For reading and painting/crafts, they are tilting surfaces that are very handy. They are easy to adjust and comfortable for long periods of sitting. There are a lot of school supplies and books in the drawer. It is so much easier for kids and mom to learn at home with these desks! It doesn't matter how long it has been since my kids sat at their desks, they still want to work on their Investment well worth the time and effort!.
Using my 6 year old (52in) on this desk will bring virtual learning into his life. A "bored" desk lean is not too difficult to achieve on this desk. large enough to hold all of her essentials. So should she need to change subjects and grab different materials, the drawer will hold them all. The chair is sturdy and comfy enough for her 72 pounds as well as to be used when mom or dad want to sit at the computer to figure out what's going on! Despite being tall for her age, she has room to grow, so we found a comfortable chair for her that is easy to move around. She dislikes that the chair is noisy and difficult to move on hardwood floors.
We do not know where the production process failed. The drawer's internal bearing rail on one side was not attached to anything at all, as the ball bearings were floating inside the box. Thanks to the Styrofoam and plastic wrap, we were able to find all 16 ball bearings. It didn't take me long to put it together, but it was a bit time consuming. A small amount of bent outward was on the opposite rail but it was simple to adjust and get the drawer to slide in properly.

Highly recommended. You can use this to learn remotely and/or at home. I love it! My kiddo likes it as well!
