There are tons of books in my kids' rooms. However, when it arrived I was dissatisfied to say the least. In the end, I gave it a try anyway, but changed my mind as soon as I filled it out! There are actually a surprising number of books inside! (Always a favorite! extremely destructive, so I was concerned she would climb on it. So far, she has simply acknowledged that it is for her use and doesn't intend to climb on it! but significant I'm completely satisfied with the product!.
The hardback books that I wanted to give to my baby are in perfect condition. From the picture you can see I was turning around for too long, so it is also quite I also love how easy it is to put together. For toddlers, this is a good choice.
When we received this shelf for the first time, one of the rods was damaged away from the screw holes, making it impossible to screw it into place. The item was returned and a replacement was ordered.
I have successfully reassembled the replacement. Unfortunately, one Phillips head screw was blinded by debris in the Phillips head notches, but I was able to dislodge the debris and complete the reinstallation. As I showed him how to attach the books, my 18 month old son played with it while I assembled it. He understood what it was for and how it worked after I explained how to assemble it. To reach all the pockets, he only has to reach a few inches. There appear to be no issues with the frame. Despite the fact that I doubt the fabric pockets will last very long, it will not be too difficult to reuse them as templates when it comes time to replace them. In summary, the disadvantages of the system are In between the top bar and the wall, there is a gap. As soon as he saw the gap where the books were lost behind the shelf, my son started dropping books into it. As soon as he realized in which direction they had gone, he climbed behind the object, tipping over the heavy, book-filled table. A laden shelf extends over the shelf. Should he try to pull it from the front, it could easily fall on him. While I doubt it would be much more than a scare and a bump on the head, it is going to be annoying to have to attach brackets to secure it to the wall and deal with it later as it is attached to the wall when retrieving books from There isn't much space for books in it. My feelings about this are not surprising, though I will have to build another larger shelf nearby, and I presume we will keep his current favorite items on this shelf so he can browse them easily. A deep pocket makes it difficult for smaller books to be visible and easy to find. I will probably put these in small bins nearby. A book about 5" x 5" or smaller is considered small. You can see some smaller book samples propped up or sitting on the floor in front of the shelf in this picture. I will update this review if I think it's necessary after using it a little more.
In addition to this bookcase, I ordered another one for my other son from a different company on Amazon with this same exact picture. Would have liked to order from the same company for the second one. In the picture, it appears that it can hold three books across, but it can't even do that. There is nothing good about this product. My first book ripped as soon as I placed it in. i) This is so wobbly, and badly constructed. It is not worth the risk, in our opinion, to create products for children if they are not structurally sound, since you might end up with a lawsuit on your hands if your cheaply made product falls onto a child. Probably the worst example of cheaply made furniture I've ever seen. It's so fragile that even holding a paperback book is too difficult. I cannot even use it as a bookcase because it's not strong enough! In the near future I will be contacting Amazon to get a refund once I finish reviewing. This pile of garbage can be returned to the company! Like paper, the material is very thin! Previously, I posted a picture of the product right next to the one on the box-this is not the same item as the one previously posted!.
I bought this for my daycare and it is so cute. Ten minutes is all it takes to assemble it. The large capacity makes it ideal for holding 80 books. The deep pockets make it easy to move around (which results in more On Monday, my kids will love it because it's affordable, safe, and I'm sure they'll love it. It appears that someone did shake the device and a video was posted showing it not looking very stable, but the screws might not have been In order to keep the unit stable, you ought to tighten the screws as much as you can, especially on the top and bottom rods. In addition, the shelf move around quite a bit during the video. This is probably due to the fact that they were moving it on a wood floor, no friction = movement, as we all should understand. The rubber will stop it from moving if you put a thin layer of hot glue on the bottom. However, you may want to put it on a carpet if you do not wish to do so.
The bookshelf is an excellent buy for the price. I have been considering these for a few months now, trying to decide if it would be worth the money, and it is by far the best. Unless you like me and never measure out the dimensions of things before you buy them, I've included in my photo a comparison of the shelf vs a bottle of wine (gotta love aldi I wasn't prepared for how small this bookshelf would be, but it holds a lot for its size. Despite some of my toddler's protests, it took me less than 5 minutes to assemble, and at the same time I managed not to destroy the item. I was actually surprised at how easy and quick it was to assemble. I could probably have fit even more in there, but I was able to hold 30 books comfortably. It has thick board books as well as a lot of thin little books (as you can see on This is the perfect ring size, and I can see why it has been purchased by many of the reviewers. My recommendation for this product comes from TotTutors, and I plan to purchase another one in the near.
