Questions & Answers

When you open the tray, does it lock into place?

It has a unique mechanism for opening. It doesn't "lock," but it's very sturdy and won't fold unless you want it to. These trays are one of my favorites. I ordered two for myself and then ordered two more for our Lake house because I loved them so much. You will not be dissatisfied with your purchase.

What is it that keeps these trays from slamming shut? Can someone show me how to open the tray from the back?

I'm sorry, but I'm unable to upload a photo because I am unable to type on my phone. The tray is fastened to the legs with a strong clamp. You close it by stepping firmly on the cross bar and pulling up on the tray. After that, the table is folded into a flat position. Step on the crossbar and push down on the table to open it. They're not as heavy as the wooden ones I've used, but they're not as shaky. On my porch, it comes in handy when it's raining.

Why is the price so different depending on the color, and why can't I use prime shipping?

I'm not sure. I suppose it has something to do with weight and popularity. Especially if they're sold by someone who isn't affiliated with Amazon.

Is it possible to use these and leave them outside?

No, I believe it is unlikely. Because it is made of plastic, the top can withstand some water but not for long periods of time. The powder-coated legs would rust in a day or two, but not over a season, in my opinion. But I adore them; I have six of them, and they are the best TV trays ever! For the outdoors, maybe teak.

With Packaging Removal Tricks, it Looks and Works Great
5/5

This is a fantastic product that does not resemble a standard TV tray. On the packaging, all of the reviews were correct, but I turned them upside down and loosened the screws, and the plastic easily came off. To get rid of the old tags on the front sticker, I used an old retail trick. You heat up the label adhesive with a blow dryer, and the sticker peeled off in one piece without issue in 10 seconds, leaving no residue; it took me longer to walk upstairs to get my blowdryer than it did to remove the sticker. There is no residue, no mess, and it is extremely simple.

TV tray with a lot of strength
5/5

COVID is a virus that infects humans. 19 I now work full-time from home, with my "work space" being my dining room table. I needed two TV trays so that my daughter and I could sit and eat without having to move all of my office belongings. I couldn't believe how difficult it was to locate exactly what I was looking for. Despite the fact that this tray lacks a lipped edge (which is nearly impossible to come by these days), I am pleased. I was hesitant to buy two because of the annoying sticker mentioned in other reviews, but I decided to try them out for myself. br>1) The colors and chevron pattern appeal to me. 2) THERE IS NO STICKER! My box was sticker-free, so I believe they listened to other reviewers. br>3) The tray is still wrapped in plastic before the legs are attached, but this isn't a problem for me. br>4) Slightly taller than standard TV trays, which is a plus in my book. br>5) It's a bit more substantial. I expected it to be a little flimsy, but it turned out to be much more sturdy than I It's also not excessively heavy. There is enough weight to keep it stable. br>5) I've never had a problem with the tray "folding or collapsing" while in use. We've only used them twice so far, so we'll see how they perform. br>6) There isn't a lot of leg room between the legs of the tray, but I'm not a tiny lady either. For me, it's not a deal breaker. br>br>Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase, which arrived in just two days. There will be no more eating on the couch! Yay!.

The trays are fantastic
4/5

Packaging is a disaster and irritates me. I'd give this product five stars if it weren't for the fact that the trays are quite nice. They have a nice study design and a simple-to-use interface. Have a clean surface and a quirky but tasteful design. On the top side, they have a slick veneer that prevents food and grime from clogging the pores, as raw wooden trays do. br>br>However, the packaging is a complete war crime, and I'm pretty sure this is the first and only time in my life that packaging has made me seriously consider whether it would have been more convenient to build the product from the ground up out of raw materials. The tray was apparently shrink wrapped before the legs were drilled into the underside, leaving you with two choices: ) Cut away any excess plastic around the screws with an exacto knife, which will invariably result in a tacky look, or 2. ) Remove the plastic wrap by completely disassembling the tray. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to drill holes in the plastic where the legs come into contact with the tray. br>br>Once you've gotten past the biblical sin of plastic wrap, you'll be confronted with a sticker label on the tray's surface that, when removed, leaves (you guessed it) a thick mess of glue. Why was the label not attached to the plastic wrap? Who knows what will happen. tl; tl; tl; tl; tl; tl; tl; tl The trays are fantastic. Please fire whoever is wrapping, labeling, and packaging these things for the sake of all that is decent.

Those are some nice TV trays
4/5

When I bought these TV tray tables, I had no idea what to expect. I knew I wanted something sturdy that I wouldn't ruin by putting an icy drink on it. When I first got these, I was pleasantly surprised. The top is made of a thick particle board that has been laminated with plastic. They're simple to clean and appear to be long-lasting. My only gripes are the same as those expressed in previous reviews - The table top is protected by plastic, which was applied before the tray's base was secured with screws and metal brackets. To completely remove the plastic, unscrew the brackets and take off the table's top. I simply did my best to cut around the plastic. My second gripe is that there is a sticker label stuck to the table top beneath the plastic that must be removed before using the TV tray. By removing the sticker slowly and carefully, I was able to keep it intact. There's no reason why the manufacturer couldn't put this sticker on top of the plastic and then wrap the tabletop in plastic after it's screwed to the base. Apart from those few minor quibbles, these TV trays are exactly what I needed.

It's very difficult to get rid of the packaging
3/5

The table itself is attractive, but it is clear that they have never conducted a thorough examination of the packaging. Because the plastic wrap is tucked beneath the hardware, it is difficult to remove and leaves small bits protruding. To remove the label from the top of the table, you'll need windex, goo gone, and a tile spatula (why they couldn't have put it on top of the shrink wrap is a mystery). It was completely absurd. Scrubbing the glue off the label took me about 45 minutes to an hour.

The materials are excellent
3/5

It's a sloppy build. Who would have guessed that bolting the legs to the still-moving vehicle would be sufficient? Is it true that the top is shrink-wrapped? That is a complete and utter blunder. I used an X-ray. The plastic around the brackets was carefully cut with an acto knife. However, knowing it's there still irritates me. Then there's a sticker in the middle of the top, but it's hidden by the shrinkwrap. Is peeling it off simple? OH NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO The face separates from the backing, leaving a glued-on layer of paper. So don't forget to order some Goo Gone as well. br>br>Once the shrinkwrap is removed, it does have a slight odor, as mentioned by another reviewer. After hanging out in the garage for a few days, I left. br>br>However, solid materials and a well-designed product are essential. Simply put, the construction is shockingly sloppy.

They'll be fine; the sticker situation, however, is absurd
3/5

I tried everything I could think of to remove the sticker residue from the trays, but nothing worked. I was aware that this was a known issue based on the reviews. I figured a little elbow grease and some goo gone would suffice, but nothing seems to work. They're tough and will get the job done - Despite the fact that the sticky corner irritates me to no end - They'll be kept by me. br>br>My advice to anyone would be to buy something else or get some awesome Dr Who stickers to cover up the dingy corner.
