I had high hopes for these seats, but they haven't quite met my expectations thus far. You'll find glowing reviews everywhere praising how comfortable they are, but I'm afraid to say I'm a little disappointed in their overall comfort. This could be because you ordered the heavy duty XL variant, which is stiff and uncomfortable (it increases the weight capacity to 400 pounds from the standard 300 pounds). I'm a big guy, 6'5" and 280 pounds, so the extra weight capacity was important to me. However, I discovered that not only are the cushions stiff and firm, but the lumbar support is also inadequate, particularly when reclining. The most serious problem, in my opinion, is the lack of firmness. If you order direct, I believe there are various options for how stiff the cushions are; however, I was not given a choice, and I find myself shifting constantly throughout a movie due to the overly firm nature of the cushions. In addition, the lumbar support appears to be too high, particularly when you recline to the middle of your back rather than your lower lumbar. At this price, I believe it should be lower, or better yet, adjustable, and allow for vertical adjustment. Also, even though I have a bad back, engaging the lumbar support makes it stiffer, to the point where I'd almost rather not engage it at all. br>br>One thing to keep in mind: while the seat height is fine for me, it is quite high for an average-sized person. My wife and teenage children find it uncomfortable because their feet can't touch the floor when the seat isn't reclined, effectively forcing them to recline to have any sort of comfort. br>br>Another issue with the seating is that the LED lighting for the cup holder and under the seat are controlled at the same time. The lights on the controls can't be turned off for some reason and remain on all of the time. The cup holder light and the under seat light are linked, so the switch turns both lights on or off while keeping the seat control lights on. They should be controlled separately because, while the cup holder light appears to be useful, the under seat lights, when turned on, are completely distracting when watching a movie in a darkened room with the footrest up. They should give the light switch multiple functions to allow for more light control. The USB charger is my last gripe. It's a bad design decision to have the arm rest stick out to the side, almost in line with your thigh. It's easy to bump a cable, and it's also easy to damage one, so it should be moved. Another area that could be improved or at least added as an option is to add a standard outlet inside the arm rest that would allow charging of remotes and other devices. This would be preferable to the practically useless in function usb port in the arm rest. My final nitpick is that each seat must be plugged into an outlet, which means you'll need to run some sort of multiple plug outlet behind the couch, which can be unsightly if you have the couch anywhere other than a wall. Instead of the current setup, I believe you should be able to daisy chain the couches together and have one plug running from them to an outlet.
