The table is sturdy and looks nice. The color is exactly as shown. A wide variety of chess, checkers, and backgammon pieces are provided in the double drawers. A nice piece of furniture, however there was a damage to the item, so I am giving it only three stars. When I unpacked the table, I found that the base of the table had 3 large indents. The box was slightly damaged but the foam was intact, so I thought all was well. There was also a stain on the table top that appeared to be paint. There were a lot of old-looking indents on the page. According to our observations, the inner surface of the foam closest to the actual table appeared to have water damage because it was a little "mushy". When the box arrived today with the table, I could have sworn it had gone through the same trauma. When I opened it, the styrofoam packing was in pieces, making my living room covered in a layer of styrofoam "snow," despite the fact that the table was considered 'NEW' at the time of purchase. Overall, once I got it unpacked, I found it to be a sturdy table that was easy to assemble, had no missing parts/pieces, and was well made with a beautiful finish, except for the few dents and scratches (mainly in the base). The table would have to stand in the place I had reserved for it in my home until I put the assembled table in the place I had reserved for it, in spite of its minor defects (life has taught me well to accept less than perfection). A great chess table with a lot of durability. As for the color cherry, it looks wonderful as well. Wood is heavy and this one is made from real wood. We are very pleased with the table, as it turned out exactly as we expected. In addition, the packaging was very poor, so one of the drawers was damaged twice. Since it would have been a hassle to send it back, I had my handyman fix it. Every time we open the drawer, the top of the drawer has a crack in it. The drawer is closed except to get out the game pieces, so it isn't that big of a deal, however a brand new item should not be damaged in transit.
