It is not the baskets themselves that are important but the way they are assembled. I like this cart a lot in the end. *Pros Nice and long and wide, it looks amazing with my decor, and is super cute as well. I found the process to be easy and quick for the most part. The cons are what I expected, the baskets are difficult to assemble (the black stripped off the pins when sliding into place), the instructions were basically one picture of it put together, leaving you to guess how to get there, and the price dropped $50 the next day. While there are so many shortcomings to my purchase, I am still pleased with it. There are no cons in terms of the final product. I simply love the way it looks once it's put together.
As soon as I called Amazon to inform them, I was told Baxton would ship replacement pieces to me. My call to Baxton was answered by officers who informed me they had no such agreement and that they would explain that to Amazon if I arranged In order to avoid being a middle man to Baxton's deceit, I have decided to cut my losses and leave this review rather than spend 10 minutes on the phone to receive a replacement part. In its original form, the product is made up of welded metal and particle board (that has the potential for breaking and apparently being impossible to replace according to Baxton). It's not going to be much fun. However, if it is in good shape, it is quite beautiful.
The mixed reviews made us a little hesitant when we decided to order this kitchen cart, but we decided to try it out. In spite of the trashed appearance of the box on the outside, all of the parts were intact. Despite the fact that the instructions were quite lacking, the cart went together quite easily. Our trip to the baskets was a complete waste of time, since they weren't needed. Almost everything else is fine, but I wish the shelf height could be adjusted. Several items like a blender could not be placed on the bottom shelf since they are taller. There is also no locking of the wheels, so it's not as stable as it could be, but so far it hasn't been an issue. I was super excited to receive this item for our work space, but it actually turned out to be a complete I believe all the negative reviews are legitimate for this item. When our package arrived, we watched as the outside and inside were all destroyed, but on closer inspection we saw that there was still plenty of stuffing and Styrofoam inside the cart This is incorrect. We took over an hour to assemble this beast, only to discover there were a lot of manufacturing errors. There was not even a full set of screws installed on the boards. A slight warp in the wood was likely caused by it being tossed around during delivery like a rag doll. Once assembled, one wheel crashed immediately. Produced cheaply, it wasn't long before another one fell apart. You can see in the photo that the top side of the cart is bowed, as the crash bars for the doors in the background are not aligned with the top side of the cart. The wheel was busted. The look is really nice, with a great industrial feel. It was fairly easy to put together, but I would suggest having a second person help balance the shelves while securing them in place while I was sitting on my lap, shoulders, and arms.
