This low-profile box spring with a solid wood frame is ideal for higher mattresses. I was able to carry mine up a narrow stairwell because they are split and thus light enough for a woman in her late sixties to carry. Fits the frame of my queen bed.

A purple mattress was purchased as a base. Because the tops of these aren't very sturdy, I bought plywood to make a flat, sturdy base for them. I would have looked into other options if I had known.

Who cares if it's against the law? I'm not serious! I did purchase a mattress topper. However, I did order a firm because that is what they requested. As a result, it was substantial.
