Although the space is 3 1/2 inches, the wine glass base should not be larger than 3 1/4 inches in diameter to allow for easy sliding in and out.
Mine is ten feet deep and seventeen feet in length.

It worked after that was completed. I would've given it four stars if I hadn't had to repair it. You might not notice a problem if you wear glasses with small bases, but it was obvious to me right away. br>NOTE: THIS PAGE HAS BEEN UPDATED. Because of the issue I had, the company gave me a partial refund. I wasn't looking for a refund, but it came as a pleasant surprise. Hopefully, the issue described above will not arise again, but if it does, the company appears to stand behind their product, which is commendable.
It was simple to set up. It is sturdy and holds my glasses. If you can get someone to help you without using double-sided tape, do so. It's quite thick, and it's visible. I colored it with wood paint. Because my glasses are all rather large, they didn't hold as many as I would have liked, but if you drink out of all of them, you'll be fine. You'll be fine with purpose glasses or flutes; I hung many martini and burgundy glasses. I can't seem to get any pictures to upload.
Red wine glasses only fit in two (of four) rows due to the unusual openings. Pros: On a dark shelf, this wooden wine glass holder looks much more expensive than it is. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. Poor quality of work. What you pay for is exactly what you get. Each row has different stemware openings! For instance, only two of the four openings will fit our red wine glasses! They ought to be able to fit in all of them. To see if the glasses will fit, you must try them on in each row. When we discovered the discrepancies, we had already placed it on our shelf and decided to keep it. But if it hadn't been for the fact that it was a gift, I would have promptly returned it. What you pay for is exactly what you get. Although it appears to be a good fit, your stemware may not.
(Mine were 17 1/4" and 17 3/8") Other than that, it was a breeze to put together. Because they went through the bottom of the cabinet above, I used shorter screws than those included. The 8 x 1" wood screws were ideal!.
However, the hardware was damaged when it arrived. I placed an order for two of these stemware racks. They were both delivered in record time! (1 day - 1 hour) amazing). The only issue is that one of the screws they sent was damaged, so I won't be able to install it. I'm going to try to get a new screw sent to me so I can properly install these stemware racks - I'm hoping I won't have to return the entire package just to get a new screw. I'm crossing my fingers that these racks turn out to be perfect.
I bought two of these to turn an old TV cabinet into a wine and whiskey bar, and they were perfect! Exactly what I needed. Two next to each other look great, and the opening is ideal for me because they fit all of my wine glasses. I would strongly suggest it.
It appears to be fantastic.
