Questions & Answers

I'll have to use a toaster oven to make this. Is this something that would work?

It should fit in a variety of sizes.

What was the location of production?

When I was looking for something to buy, I looked on EBay as well as direct from China (AliExpress, DHGate). Amazon was the best deal I could find at the time because I was a Prime member.

Accurate, consistent, and simple to read (though a little small)
4/5

In comparison to two other pre-existing pre-existing pre-existing pre-existing The unit I received appears to be accurate and consistent in its measurements, according to the thermometers I tested. This is a good, basic oven thermometer that can be read through the oven window (with a flashlight carefully aimed). My only gripe is that a larger face would have made it easier to read, but I needed it right away and couldn't wait for the 3" version. I would be willing to buy this model again in the future based on price, accuracy, and functionality.

It takes a long time for the temperature to register
3/5

The temperature takes a long time to register on this thing. I'm not sure if I got a defective one or one that was put together too tightly because the hand moves so slowly. It took me ten minutes to get close enough to my oven, which was already set to 425 degrees. I wanted to try to be more precise with the temperature while baking because I have an old oven. I believe it is correct, and as long as it is in the oven when I turn it on, it will most likely rise at the same rate as the oven.

I changed the white background to a dark brown one
3/5

Why can't they make an oven thermometer that stays put and doesn't fall over, or one that is easy to read without having to move the food in the oven? It should be able to sit in the middle and be seen from all sides. I attempted to hang it in a number of locations but was unsuccessful. The readings are difficult to see in the dim light. Regrettably, more money has been squandered in the search for a suitable replacement.

There isn't a great deal of precision here
5/5

This thermometer is used to achieve greater accuracy in the oven temperature for macaron preparation. br>I've used it for other purposes; However, for the macarons, a wine with 50 degrees higher, i. e. not a 0 degree wine, was ignored.

This is a simple but effective method
4/5

Any baker will tell you how critical it is to have your oven calibrated properly. You risk ruining your cookies, pastries, or cakes if your oven heats up or cools down too much. br>br>Wanting to make sure that the oven thermometer I already had worked properly, I decided to buy this one as well. I didn't see any disadvantages because the price was so low. br>br>It turned out that my old thermometer was working properly. This thermometer performs exactly as it should. I frequently bake at high temperatures of 400 degrees Fahrenheit, and the thermometer has never discolored. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is because the hinge is set at a wide angle, which means you'll have to slightly bend it to keep it from falling off when you pull out the oven rack.

Temperatures exceeding 450 degrees Fahrenheit will not be registered; However, it is suitable for low and mid-temperatures
3/5

Above about 425 degrees F, the thermometer's accuracy begins to deteriorate, and it will not go above 450 degrees F, no matter how hot the oven becomes. To confirm the high temperatures, I used an instant read laser thermometer, but I'd prefer to have a permanent oven thermometer so I didn't have to keep checking with another instrument. br>br>This item's one redeeming feature is that it can be set to 50 degrees Fahrenheit, which is ideal for proofing breads. However, the temperature range's extremes are unreliable.

This was a very inexpensive oven thermometer, and I had no idea what to expect; sometimes you get what you pay for
3/5

br>However, my oven was set to 475 degrees Fahrenheit, while this thermometer read 300. That's not exactly accurate, in my opinion. br>I'm not returning it because it didn't cost me enough to be concerned about. But I would never recommend it to a friend.

Good Job
5/5

This is what I use to cure polymer clay items in the toaster oven. It appears to be accurate and reliable.
