For me, lo simply meant that the temperature of my turkey was lower than the low temperature at which it begins. (was a little frozen) After a while, the thermometer went off as the turkey cooked and warmed up. I discovered this after changing batteries and seeing the same Lo.
Neither rubber nor cloth tape should be used. You can either use glass tape (I believe 3M sells it) or go to a reputable electrical supply store. Glass tape will not burn if you call and ask for it.
I'll take a stab at it. Make sensible decisions. I cooked my turkey and hung the cord from the oven door's side. I gently slammed the door shut. You could run a piece of tubing through the smoker's enclosure to keep the cord from getting too hot. The temperature of a smoker, if my memory serves me correctly, is around 250 degrees Fahrenheit. as a result of which the probe will not be damaged by the heat This will suffice in a pinch. I hope this information is useful.
It fulfills both of these requirements. A switch is located on the back of the unit.

Because my bottle warmer doesn't have a timer setting, I use this thermometer to time my infant's milk. In the span of seven months, I've had two of these thermometers. There will be no more. So, what was I thinking when I purchased two? Continue reading to find out more: PROSbr>PROSbr>PROSbr>PROSbr>PROSbr>PROSbr>PROSbr>PROSbr>PROSbr>PROS It's accurate when it's working. I used a different thermometer to check the temperature, and the results were identical.
- The timer can be customized according to the user's preferences. friendly. If you're anything like me, user manuals are a chore to read. There's no need to take a reading with this thermometer - it'll tell you how hot The application is self-evident.
- The timer allows you to see how much time has passed so you can get a sense of how long it takes for various items to warm up. For example, I now know that warming my daughter's milk from ice cold to 100 degrees takes about 3 minutes. I'll make the necessary preparations.
- The alarm is audible, but you can make it silent.
- The figures are large enough to be seen from a distance. CONSbr>br>- br>br>- br>br>- br>br>- br>br>- br>br HUGE CON: For more than two months, it is ineffective. I've purchased this thermometer twice now, and both of them stopped working after two months for the same reason: It displays "LO" instead of the temperature of the item you're heating. I'm not sure what "LO" stands for, but if you see it, it means the thermometer has stopped working for you and you're out of luck.
- It's a slog to get back. You'd think that a company selling a product with a known flaw would make it simple to return it, right? Or, better yet, replace it as soon as you complain, right? Nope. Amazon requires you to either return the item and wait for a refund or order a new one before receiving your refund. There was no customer service and no apology. There is no free shipping of a new one to save you time. It's a sham.
- The fact that the manufacturer has yet to address the strange "LO" defect that has been brought up by so many reviewers demonstrates how little they value their customers. br>br>**If this review was helpful to you, please click "yes" below.
This was purchased only four months ago to replace a Taylor thermometer that had been in my possession for at least five years. This is a waste of time. br> A turkey was ruined because the thermometer probe did not register properly. br> Now the timer has stopped in the middle of the cooking process, resulting in the ruination of a dozen eggs. When I tried to turn it off, it abruptly shut down. And, of course, I double-checked the battery, which was fine. I'm furious. It's difficult for a disabled person to spend time and energy in a kitchen. It irritates me to throw that away, as well as the food, because of faulty products.
Because I suspected it was the probe, I purchased a second unit, which was less expensive than purchasing the probe separately. I inserted the new probe into the old unit when the new one arrived, and it worked perfectly. You guessed it, the new probe worked for about three months. After 4 months, the unit would only display "HI. " I'm done; this unit is great when it works, but buying it is a waste of money. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT UNTIL THEY FIX THE PROBE, AS IT IS OBVIOUSLY WRONGLY DESIGNED.
Over the last 15 or 20 years, I've owned two or three of this model of meat thermometer and have always been satisfied with its performance, durability, and dependability. br>br>When I received this one, I was disappointed to find that the probe wire had been replaced with a plastic or rubber covering rather than the braided wire cover that all previous units had. br>I've read that if this wire comes into contact with higher temperatures, it will melt. When I first put it in the oven with a roast and closed the door, this happened to me. Furthermore, the company that makes this has made the wires inside the covering so thin and brittle that they break from normal bending fatigue. br>br>The metal probe itself is of much lower quality; Taylor has made the metal probe of this item of such poor quality that it bent on the first use when inserted in the roast. br>br>In the past, I never had a problem with the braided metal covering causing the wire to be damaged by heat or the probe bending, but this is no longer the case with this new unit, which is why I gave it two stars. br>br>However, this has enabled Taylor, the company that makes this, to create a market for a new product: br>Replacement wire/probe, which is more expensive than a replacement thermometer:.
I really like this digital thermometer, but why can't you improve it and make it last longer? It was purchased in July 2016 and has already failed to function. I continue to purchase it because I enjoy it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll get one that works for a longer period of time. When it works, it's great for baking as well as making yogurt. The cord connecting the device to the probe is the source of the issue. All you have to do now is strengthen it in some way. Please make an effort to improve the quality of the video. This time, I'm not going to purchase it; please notify me when the quality improves.
I needed a long-lasting product that I could use every day. After reading numerous reviews, I decided to give it a shot. My first one, however, broke almost immediately after a year of use. It no longer correctly reads temperature. For example, when the liquid begins to boil, it may display 32 degrees Celsius or simply read "Lo t" instead of providing precise figures. I tried changing the batteries, but it didn't work. I contacted Amazon for a replacement and received it promptly. It had only been working for 6 months, and despite not being used as intensively as his predecessor, it had produced the same results - BROKEN, and Amazon is no longer able to replace it. I'm going to contact the manufacturer right now to discuss my options. br>What do you think the outcome will be? If you plan to use the thermometer frequently, look for one that is commercial grade.
