I'm a baker, and there was no way for me to know how hot it was in the middle of the range. I bought it to give it a try. I like that it can be hung on the oven rack grills and that it tells the temperature quickly. My cookies and pizza turned out perfectly, and I even tried them in the air fryer and was pleased. So there's no need to lament the loss of the old oven, hehehe.
At 525 degrees, I was making pizza. The temperature on this thermometer was 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
I'm not sure if this is correct, but it appears to be indicating that the temperature my stove reports is correct. However, due to its light weight, it is a little flimsy and frequently falls through the grate in my oven. I wish they'd consider where this will be placed in the oven. When it arrived, the metal was bent and protruded from the packaging. Because I simply bent it back, it wasn't a big deal.
It was fantastic. A good oven thermometer at a reasonable price. Reading that is accurate.
I kept thinking something was wrong with my oven, but it was easier to obsess over it than to actually test it. Then I came across this oven thermometer for a reasonable price, but I was mistaken. My oven is in perfect working order, but my cooking skills aren't.
The numbers on the inside of the oven are too small to read. And, because our oven gets too hot, I bought a thermometer, which never reads higher than 300 degrees. I threw it out because it was so cheap.
Restaurant-quality and extremely precise. Confirmed my suspicion that our oven was running at a lower temperature than set, which is a major issue if you enjoy baking. It's very simple to use and read. I would strongly suggest it.
Mom's old thermometer had reached the end of its useful life. This new one made her extremely happy!.
