I'm not sure, but I've been using it for a long time and it's always been correct. It gets a ten out of ten from me. br>I hope this information is useful! Keith br>Keith br>Keith br>Keith

As a result, it's pretty useless at its sole purpose. We bought three thermometers to see how accurate the oven is, and this was the loser of the test: the Rubbermaid and CDN both agreed with each other exactly, with a difference of less than a degree, but the OXO read 10 degrees higher than those two and the oven, and it took 5 minutes longer to get there. Because it is slow to react, when the heat is turned off and the oven cools, the other two tracked the temperature drop very well, showing the oven cooling by nearly 30 degrees in less than 10 minutes, whereas the OXO only showed a 2 degree drop in the same time. It is also difficult to read through an oven window, despite being the largest of the three, because the marks and numbers are thin. To summarize, it wasn't accurate, it took extra time to be wrong, and reading the inaccurate measurement was difficult.
The thermometer is ACCURATE, first and foremost! br>The only reason I gave it a four star rating is because the thermometer does not stay put on the rack; however, the hovering hook is simple to use, except when your oven rack spacing is close together. br>I'd buy it again in a heartbeat! I hope this information is useful.

It's a well-made thermometer with a nice design. It's simple to hang, and it's simple to read. I used a high-quality all-purpose food thermometer to compare the temperatures, and they were identical. I like that I can put this thermometer right next to the food in the oven. In my oven, there is a slight variation in temperature in different areas, and I discovered some hot spots. I'm a big fan of Oxo products, and this one was no exception.
I'm a little obsessed with oven thermometers. The way the oven temperature fluctuates around the target when I'm baking bread, pizza, or cookies irritates me. Furthermore, my old GE oven is off by about 25 degrees Fahrenheit at high temperatures and 50 degrees Fahrenheit at low temperatures. This is a recipe for disaster in the kitchen. br>br>I've tried 5 other oven thermometers, all of which were well-rated and fakespotted, and they all had issues ranging from inaccuracy to breakage to falling off to the paper inside burning and rendering the readings illegible. br>br>None of these issues exist with this Oxo oven thermometer, which features large, legible numbers. Even if I bump it, it stays attached to the rack. It appears to be accurate, albeit with a 10-minute or longer delay in getting a good reading. Overall, I'm very pleased with the results.
I was concerned that my stove calibration was incorrect, but it perfectly matches my stove temperature and hangs out of the way.
I put the thermometer in a cold oven, just as instructed. My old Taylor thermometer and the new OXO thermometer both read the same temperature at that point. After warming up, both the old one and the oven read 350 degrees. In the same oven as the other thermometer, the OXO registers 295 degrees. This must be faulty, because the oven setting and the old thermometer both give the same reading, as shown in the photos. Either a replacement or a refund is what I'm looking for. The OXO was shipped in a padded envelope, which may or may not have provided adequate protection for the mechanism. br>Joan Kimmel, thank youbr>.
This is the second thermometer I've bought that has failed to function properly. Regardless of the oven temperature, it only registered up to 350 degrees. Junk.
The writing is simple and straightforward. Installing it was a breeze. It's convenient to have access to the oven's current temperature. It's also crucial to keep an eye on things while they're cooking.
