I use my oven thermometer, which does not require batteries, in the oven. When it comes to getting up to temperature, my gas oven takes longer than molasses in January. This is a fairly accurate thermometer, as I have three in the oven at the same time and they all match in temperature.

Inaccurate to the point of being ridiculous! I put both thermometers in my oven and set the temperature to 300 degrees; one read 225 degrees, while the other read 250 degrees

So I raised the temperature to 350 degrees to see if the thermometers' readings would change; one remained at 225 degrees, while the other increased slightly to around 275 degrees. I figured I needed to break them in first, so I tried again later in the day, but I still couldn't get a reliable reading. This is a complete waste of money!.
