That is an excellent query! The seller makes no assurances about the accuracy of the information provided (/-). Unlike some other thermometer manufacturers, we provide temperature readings in degrees (e.g., 5 degrees, etc.). It's an expansion spring device, which isn't known for precision unless it's been individually factory calibrated, which it most likely isn't. The only way to be sure is to compare it to a known accurate device or to use a professional temperature probe that is guaranteed. It's pointless to put your faith in your oven dial, as one response suggests. Why do you need a thermometer in the first place if you can rely on your oven dial?
I wouldn't wash it because the internal springs could rust. Mine hasn't gotten gooped up yet, but if it does, I'll clean it with oven cleaner (externally).
As previously stated, we received two.
I am not aware of any calibrated features. I wouldn't put the temperature gauge in boiling water (212F), for example. , rust on metal?

This oven thermometer has two sides to it: I like it and I don't like it. I needed this thermometer because I use my oven a lot, ( But it's an older electric range top/oven, and the temperature can be off by up to 25 degrees. br> I like this model because it appears to be fairly accurate, but I still have a major issue with it because it's extremely difficult to remove from the hot oven without getting burned because the hook from which it hangs is simply too small. Because you can't see it very well with a thick oven mitt, you'll have to feel for the thermometer's base. Then, using an oven mitt, try to unhook it to get it out of the oven. (I usually drop mine because the padding from the mitt makes it difficult to maneuver your fingers. ) To remove the oven rack, grab it with both hands and lift it up. br>It just needs to be redesigned with a larger hook or a different way of attaching to your oven rack, in my opinion. If that's the case, then it'll be ideal.
" If Amazon or the seller had disclosed this information, I would not have bought it. br>br>This question can be answered by looking at the attached photo. br>br>Indicator that is simple to read.
I, on the other hand, am overjoyed! The extremely large numbers that are extremely easy to read appeal to me the most. I also bought a Taylor 3506 timer for $3 as an Amazon add-on item when I bought this. I compared the two. When these two timers were compared side by side, they both registered exactly the same and appear to be very accurate temperature readings. My only criticism of the KT Thermo model is that it takes about 5 minutes longer to reach the desired temperature than the Taylor. The small numbers on the Taylor 3506 are difficult for my old eyes to read, but both timers perform admirably and I would recommend them both.
Other products on the market have a flimsy "hook" on the top. This is an excellent example. It comes with a swiveling study hook that can be adjusted to fit the top oven rack. In addition, there is a study base that allows you to stand up. Despite numerous attempts, it has yet to fall for me. Because my oven is an older 1985 Tappan, I like to use it to check the temperature. By the way, the oven is fantastic; it still keeps a consistent internal temperature and the range top is in excellent condition.
Things were never completed on time, and I couldn't read the numbers on a similar device that was already in the oven. The new one is a lot easier to read, and I discovered that I need to raise my oven's temperature by about 15 degrees. To be able to cook in the time recommended by the recipes, the temperature must be set to 20 degrees.
This may or may not be accurate. After reading numerous reviews, I decided to purchase this thermometer for my oven because it was easier to read. I verified the temperature with my oven dial, another thermometer, and this one. This one, however, has been ruled out. My oven is set at 350°F, but my older thermometer reads a little higher than that, while this one reads closer to 400°F. I'm not sure what's going on, but I really wanted this to work out:.
To double-check, I used two different devices.
br>br>The hook is made of extremely stiff metal. press- conform to the human body My Kenmore oven's rack wires were too narrow for the hook to fit over. Its bend is too narrow to allow it to pass through the rack. So much so that simply slamming a pan over it will often send the thermometer flying. I couldn't get a firm enough grip on the hook to bend it, even after breaking it off. I even put one end in a vice to see if it would work. br>br>It didn't.
