With the help of this thermometer, I discovered that when I set my gas oven to 350 degrees, it was actually baking at 400 degrees. It's no surprise that everything I made turned out beautifully. My oven is now set to 300 degrees!
I'm checking the temperature setting on my electric oven with a thermometer to make sure it's correct and consistent. So far, everything has gone well.

I recently purchased a new stove, and the temperature of the oven appeared to be lower than I expected. To make sure, I ordered this thermometer. It's very effective, and hanging it in the oven was not a problem.
Finally, a thermometer with a large enough dial and legible printing to read without having to open the oven door. It has a nice wide base that is very stable and does not fall through the racks. This purchase has made me very happy.
That is all there is to it. This was yet another waste of time, despite the fact that it had promise. It's a shame it didn't work out. br>A one-time operation is nearly as bad as not working at all. POS.
I recently purchased a new oven, which has been in heavy use. These were purchased for the old oven, but they have been kept throughout the transition. It has a nice large dial that is easy to read, but I'm not sure if it is accurate. br>br>Knowing that ovens have hotspots, this thermometer is frequently off by 100 degrees near the door! I'll have to do some placement testing, which should be simple since there are two in this pack, but I'm betting on the new oven. In a few months, I'll provide an update.
They have a chinky vibe to them. It would be nice if the base was a little wider so that they didn't fall over between the oven rack grates. I bought them because one of the ovens in my double oven stove seemed to be malfunctioning, and they confirmed my suspicions, so I believe they're accurate enough? But there's no way for me to know for sure.
Temperatures are at a great level. It was nice to be able to read it despite the smoke from my grill. I used it to test the accuracy of my other temperature meters. It was simply set on the grate inside. I checked the outside thermometer, lifted the lid, and compared the results. It should be within a 10-mile radius. The temperature has changed by 20 degrees.
I ordered this because my oven seemed to be broken during Thanksgiving. It's difficult to tell if the reading is accurate because it was nearly 30 degrees off the first time I used it, and then about 5 degrees off the second time I used it with the oven at a higher temperature. I'm going to give it a few more tries and see what happens. I also considered trying it out in a friend's oven to see how it turned out.
It was simple to read, which I appreciated. It will not remain upright if you do not like it. In the oven, it keeps falling through the grate.
