I tried to buy the stand alone because I just renovated my kitchen and had a place for everything, but not for There were reviews that said different spices came with this product, so I was cautious. The spices that came with it were the same spice blend any athlete would use. Normally I keep garlic, oregano, Italian seasoning, cilantro, rosemary, thyme, sage, etc. on my counter because it looks so nice, it's easy to access, and it tastes great There is a shelf where I can keep spices I use the most often. Although I would like the price to be cheaper, it is still worth it in the long run. The shelf system is a better way to search for stuff than hanging shelves on pantry doors. As for the stand, it is of an excellent quality and it does not harm the environment.

I was able to find this rack, which had the spices, only in this unit and could not find it anywhere else. A 70-dollar bill. My only concern was the rack I had paid $00 for it. BUT. . . Wait I'm a new cook, and I only have salt, pepper, and garlic powder in the house. My first apartment after I graduated from college just became available to me. While in college, I did not cook much, but I enjoy doing it now. The starter kit comes with all the spices I need to get started. If you are a more specific cook, or you'd like a few extras, chances are you do not need all of these, but you can put any McCornmick spice in the rack too! Almost all the spices are labeled with an expiration date (great for those who don't cook too frequently). There's no need to hitch the rack to the wall, because it rotates smoothly and spices can be pulled from either shelf comfortably. In my modern kitchen, I keep the rack on the counter because I think it looks nice enough to keep it in a cupboard.
