Isn't it a little rough around the edges?

It's potentially hazardous, and it's not worth the investment

I bought this to replace my electric grinder because I wanted something more traditional, to be able to control the grind more precisely, and to give my arms a workout (!). ), as well as the fact that I thought a mortar and pestle had a very appealing aesthetic. But this isn't it, in my opinion! When I first unpacked it, I was pleased because it appeared to be quite substantial, but I was concerned because the surface appeared slightly grainy and unfinished. When I first ground spices, I tasted sand-like particles in my food and had to throw it out right away. This in and of itself appears to me to be extremely dangerous, and the idea of digesting micro-organisms also appears to me to be extremely dangerous. The risk of stone particles appears to be quite high. I've washed it several times, but the issue persists. There is also staining on the rock that is not removed by the washes. The photo was taken after it had only been used three times and washed five times. Given the price, I would anticipate a higher-quality product, but more importantly, I believe this is irresponsible in a food tool.

The capacity is 2 cup, not 3 cup

The description says it holds 3 cups, but when I opened the box and saw how small the mortar was, I used water and a measuring cup to check the capacity, and it was only 2 cups. I returned it. As a result, I can't comment on its functionality, but it did look lovely!.

The size is ideal. EXACTLY what I was looking for. There are no chips or blemishes on this piece! I'll use it to grind herbs, spices, and other forest and plant products into medicinal products, incense, powders, and teas, among other things. While small mortar and pestle bowls are useful for crushing small amounts, this large one is more than capable of crushing larger quantities.

Built to last a lifetime

It's well-made, and the weight helps to keep it from sliding around while in use. I made a blunder by buying a rough finish instead of a polished one. It's difficult to clean the rough version. Crush and mix dried hot peppers, sesame seeds, and guacamole with this tool. For sure, it worked wonders on the dried peppers. br>br>During the first use, we did get a small chip on the edge. br>br>This product is still recommended.

This mortar and pestle is the ideal size for us: sturdy but not too heavy to move around with. It's also very attractive; my family thought it looked so good that when I'm not using it, I should put it on a display table like a piece of artwork. So I did.
