Selected User Reviews For Philips Compact Pasta Maker 4-in-1 Accessory Shape Kit- Pappardelle, Tagliatelle, Angel Hair and Lasagna, Gray
In addition to the included spaghetti, penne, or fettuccini discs, I needed discs for lasagna, pappardelle, angel hair, and tagliatelle for my Philips Viva Compact Pasta Maker. br>br>This kit includes discs for lasagna, pappardelle, angel hair, and tagliatelle. The box contained two discs (angel hair and tagliatelle), an adapter ring with the lasagna disc core installed, and a separate papparedelle disc core when it was opened. As a result, there were four pasta shaping discs in the set. A tool to clean the angel hair disc was also included, as the disc's holes can be difficult to clear without it. I wasn't expecting this to be included, but I'm glad it was. br>br>I'm angry at Philips for their deceptive front-of-box photo. It displays all four discs in their entirety. However, "Only one adapter ring for Lasagna and Pappardelle discs included" is written in very small text on the back of the box, near the bottom. Both the lasagna and pappardelle disc cores are shown in their respective ring adapters in their photograph. They believe that the asterisks at the end of the Lasagna and Pappardelle names in a circle on the front of the box, which refer to the disclosure statement at the bottom back of the box, are sufficient to avoid liability for misrepresentation to a consumer. I'd prefer it if they were more transparent by showing exactly what was included — what you see is what you should get! br>br>However, aside from consumer marketing complaints, these discs perform admirably for me and appear to be long-lasting. When combined with the compact pasta maker's original discs, they increase the variety of pasta types available. Philips should have provided some kind of separate storage for these, in my opinion. br>br>If you have problems making pasta with these discs (as some users have), it's usually because the dough texture isn't right for the machine: too moist isn't good, and too dry isn't good either. Make sure your dough is thoroughly combined and that you use a slow pour rather than a quick one when adding liquid. The texture of the dough should be crumbly and dry, but it should hold together when pinched. In addition, the pasta maker's recipes were created specifically for use with their discs and machine.
The angel hair, on the other hand, is far too fine and tends to clump together. That level of nuance is too much for this machine to handle. You must purchase them as a pair if you want them, as you will never use one. It may be worthwhile if you prepare lasagna. They should sell them separately, in my opinion.
The pasta maker is very small and convenient. These add-ons are fantastic. However, with the lasagna attachment, you must be very careful because if the dough is not consistently the same, it will not extrude properly! I'm going to try again soon in the hopes of doing better.
The angel hair pasta is a weekly favorite, and the lasagna is also delicious (though it takes a little longer to put together). It's simple to clean and consistently produces excellent pasta. This purchase has exceeded my expectations, and I would recommend it to others.
I was so happy with my Philips Mini Pasta Maker that I ordered these extra accessories right away. I was disappointed that they did not include the pasta machine, but otherwise pleased with my purchase.
I was on the verge of returning this because I suspected a component was missing. The box image depicts four complete sets, but you only receive three with one interchangeable part, which is fine but misleading.
One of them is effective. The other person does not. The papparadelle, however, is well worth it. This machine does not work with angel hair, spaghetti, or any other smaller pastas. Penne, on the other hand, is fantastic. This machine is ideal for dies that are larger in size.
So far, I've only attempted to make ramen, but I'm hoping to try making my own dumpling wrappers soon. My family really liked the ramen I made at home! If you enjoy Asian cuisine, these two books are a must-have.
