Questions & Answers

Do you know the first recipe that came with the package? As I was writing it, it went straight to the recycling bin before I even knew it was there! ?

A stiff dough is made by following the recipe on the package. To get it to come together, I had to add a lot more water. In several YouTube videos on how to make spaetzle, I saw that the dough should have the consistency of thick pancake batter and be loose enough to fall off of a spoon easily. Recipes might call for letting the dough rest for 10 minutes or longer so that the flour will be hydrated. There was also a significant increase in dough stiffness and a dense dumpling outcome.

You need to push the dough through the holes using a certain method. ?

By loading the dough into the hopper (white thing), and sliding it back and forth, the dough was pushed Depending on how long they are and what kind of noodles they are (after cooking), the noodles are about as wide as your pinkie finger. So yummy and good for you

Does Norpro manufacture the Spaetzle Maker in their own facility?

I was worried about my safety during the incident. I was able to make spaetzle with it. A pan of boiling water is big enough to fit it across. After doing the spaetle, the plastic handle came off and I plunged home into boiling water with my hand and spaetle piece. The dress for $25 has been ordered since I have recovered. There is a container that fits like a lid on different size pans for $10.00. I have not received my copy, so can't provide a review.

This is a wonderful experience
5/5

Because I am a cheapskate, I have tried every hack imaginable for making spatzel without one of these, and everything I have tried is a mess, takes forever, and is just plain frustrating. It wasn't until I bought it that I realized how much I missed out. All of this is made much easier with this tool. It will take 5 minutes instead of 30 and no mess will be made. It is also great that it attaches to the side of the pot so that it won't go flying away. As a side dish to some kielbasa, I made a mushroom and shallot spatzel.

A spaetzle that takes no time at all I've been waiting so long to try this
5/5

Why did I wait so long? Spätzle is one of my favorite dishes and I have enjoyed it several times while visiting Leavenworth, WA. The town is set up like a Bavarian village and quite fun. There has been a lot of work put into the authenticity of their message. About 50 miles away from where we live, we have visited several times throughout the years. One of the things that has become my love is spaetzle, especially Käsespätzle. In the classic Kaese spaetzle recipe, Emmentaler cheese and caramelized onions are baked into the spaetzle. Yes, I know. German mac and cheese are basically the same thing as American mac and I love how good it is. As a matter of fact, I decided to make spaetzle at home a few years ago using a colander. A lot of work was involved and a lot of mess was made. It was incredibly labor-intensive to make, but ended up being quite good Spaetzle makes a great meal but is messy and Labor intensive. After trying it out, I laughed at the thought of making them at home. Several times later, I was stumbling around the web and my interest in spaetzle was renewed, particularly after seeing several food blogs declare that THIS tool It also seemed to me that such an item would be of no use to me, abhorring single-use products I intend to use cooking tools and am curious about how many batches of spaetzle it will take to pay for it. I was surprised to find this spaetzle grater at Amazon for a cost of just $7. Then, it sat unused in my cabinet for over a year until tonight, when I decided I would give it a try to see if it really was the miracle tool I had been looking for. I don't know. I'm from My. OH MY GOD. Using this grater, I was able to make a batch of perfect spaetzle in no time at all! It looked impossible at first that I would be able to get my dough/batter into the holes, but it was easy as pie! It will be used a lot more frequently now, and I am kicking myself for waiting so long to try it out. In my grocery list, I will be adding Emmentaler cheese The next time you see the Kaese spaetzle, it will be on our menu!.

The impression I got was not good
3/5

Don't do it. Avoid it at all costs. An older Norpro-style spaetzle maker was replaced by this new Norpro model Replacement was necessary since the handle no longer fit snuggly in the guides and was becoming a true safety hazard to use. The second time I ordered it, I resisted my better judgment. As part of the preparations for a party, I made several batches of spaetzle tonight. With the third batch, the handle was out of place, and with the sixth and final batch, I had to rubber band the white plastic handle to the metal grate. My hands were oily after cooking, so I tried to slide the handle back into the grooves and store it. It will no longer fit tightly to the metal since the plastic has shrunk away from it by now. Six batches of this project should have not been enough. There was never a dishwasher at all in that house. It seems that the plastic is so cheap that it shrinks from simply sitting near hot water for a few minutes while the batter is prepared Two hours spent with my "new" spaetzle maker certainly did not disappoint.

Food of the German type works well with this product
5/5

It makes good homemade noodles now that the dough is all over the place rather than the dried up pastas. The kind of stuff that comes in boxes. You do not want to use this kitchen tool if you want a flat noodle. As a result, I'm very pleased with the product, since I can cook the dough within fifteen minutes after I mix it up. There is nothing better than freshly made food. The cutter can be used to make long noodles or pea-size noodles depending on how long it takes to slide. It is essential that the tool be cleaned instantly, or at the very least dipped in water, to prevent dough from hardening within its Dishwasher safety is not an issue with this product. The device fits over a 6qt pot well where it frees my hands to pour the dough into the device. If your dough is a little tender, such as pancake batter, there is no need to push it through the device. It's a great tool for making noodles.

The thought of going to the doctor shook me
5/5

This is great! I am so happy to have received it. It was a great buy and I'm very glad I made the purchase. There will be no longer any hesitation for me to make I found this to be very intuitive One of the recipes I received was in a package I received. Having followed it, I thought I would compare what it was to what I had tried before. There was an excessive amount of thickness in it. (My son won't drink milk, so maybe lack of lactic acid from real milk explained it. A) until thick, pliable, but not stiff. This strategy works perfectly if it is applied consistently. It is both the weight of the noodle and the grating motion that makes this tool so powerful. It was as if they fell into the soup right away. I was glad to see there wasn't any Ripley noodles either (my dad would've been very The last time I made spaetzle, I had to fight to make it.

It went well and I was having fun comparing the difference between the two makers
3/5

With high hopes of making spaetzle for the first time, I bought this spaetzle maker. All went well and I was having fun rolling the maker back and forth across the maker, and the tiny short doughs fell out as described. The dough was too stiff to drop so I added some water to make it pliable. Approximately 3/4 of the way through, the plastic handle broke off and the rest of the dough fell into the boiling water in a large Fun is not an option. These will be sent back to you. It is just impossible to use plastic when it is hot. I think it is really hard for you not to burn your hands,.
