Questions & Answers

My noodle needs to be thin (they do not have to be long, just thin). Can I make thin spaghetti as well?

Featuring dual sided attachments that can be used to make spaghetti or Fettuccini, the Marcato 150 is fully automatic. For Linguini, Vermicelli, (Thin Spaghetti), and Cappelinni (Angel Hair), there are other attachments available. There are also Lasagna and Ravioli dishes you can prepare. Depending on how long you make your noodles, you can make them as long as you like. If you want to "roll out" the dough through the rollers, you start at zero (rollers far apart), then increase the numbers until you have the consistency you are looking for. It is ok if the dough gets longer as you roll it out, so just cut it to the length you want. For spaghetti or fettuccini, I usually go to number 7 and skip all the rest. As long as the rollers are cleaned, I have no problems. It is important to use a dry dough when making pasta It is elastic, but not sticky or wet. Because the dough will not stick to the rollers, all you have to do is lightly brush them off. Let the dough dry if it does, then that can be easily removed. Here is a recipe for pastry dough that is easy to make There are 2 cups of semolina flour, 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 6 eggs, and 2 tablespoons of olive oil, plus a pinch of salt. I let my bread machine do the work, but you can knead it by hand. Make sure the dough is wrapped in plastic and rests for at least 30 minutes before serving. It might be necessary to add 1 or 2 tablespoons of water to the mix depending on the humidity. The fresh pasta is way better than boxed pasta, according to me. If you mean a short, hollow noodle, this machine cannot produce it. I'm never quite sure what people mean by macaroni, but if you mean that, it

In the instructions booklet that came with the machine, it states, "Do not add salt!" Can anyone explain why this is so?

It is important to know that the addition of a small amount of salt to the pasta mix won't weaken the gluten significantly (always added to artisan bread dough) nor will it cause the pasta mix to "disintegrate" while Although it may sound scientifically accurate in its pure form, if you want to add some flavor to your pasta, add salt to the boiling water in addition to the salt in the pasta dough, but not as much salt as you would if you made bland (saltless) pasta. As for using this machine, the issue with adding salt to the dough is that (when the machine is used for long periods of time), the salt will pit and ultimately destroy the machine. It is still "Stainless" steel despite its name. "depth guide)" starting at time-line 500

Is there a vice clamp on the pasta maker to secure it to your counter or table?

I have a butcher block island with a much thicker top than the Corian one I had in my last home, so it has a vice clamp that opens to a wide angle to be used on my island.

Is the Marco Atlas 150 the same as other Marco Atlas machines? This device has failed for the last week
3/5

I bought it nine years ago. I looked at the warranty and saw that it stated Even though I resigned myself to getting another one, just to see if there were other options I went to a local kitchen supply store and found "the same"make and model there, but it came with a 10-year warranty instead. There was an additional $5 charge in the store, but I bought it anyway. Next, I weighed the two "identical" machines and found that the one I purchased locally weighed 3 oz more. In fact, as I took the damaged one apart, I found that the internals did not match the pictures and YouTube videos I had seen online, and that there was a plastic part where all the pictures online had Additionally, I was very pleased with the quality of fit and finish on my new machine, as compared with the one I got We compared my two machines (the 2009 Amazon purchase and my new one purchased locally) to the machine of a friend that is 20+ years old. I do not know about the internals, but the weights of my new machine and that of the 20+ year old machine were identical. My hope is that Amazon won't go the way of some big box stores and have their own less expensive versions that pretend to be the "real thing". The recall may have been the result of a design change by the manufacturer.

You should not purchase this item! A fake version of this product is available online
3/5

My detailed review was rejected by Amazon after I attempted to write one. Despite 11,000 reviews, I thought this could not possibly happen but out of those 11,000 reviews, this happened. Don't buy this product it is a fake. You are not getting a marcato machine but are paying a marcato price. As soon as I received the item, I returned it. Despite the fact that the real Marcato is pictured on the box, the product inside is not the real Make sure you are careful when buying!.

I was about to take this to Goodwill when I realized what I had done
5/5

Let me begin by addressing the sellers This piece of broken glass was sent to me. While I was trying to roll pasta through the fettuccine section of the machine and it did not roll, I assumed I was not using the machine well enough. I never knew that when I first used the machine and tried to roll pasta through it and it would not roll. Due to the fact that I was able to unscrew the machine and fix the part, I was able to fix the problem. It was my first time making homemade pasta, so I had no experience with pasta dough or the pasta maker after my first use of it. After the first use, I was ready to throw it away and buy an attachment for my Kitchen Aid. It was a frightening experience as a whole. It didn't go well when I was rolling the pasta dough. I got ugly noodles that stuck together and were not at all pretty. The Atlas is no longer needed, so I've started researching attachments and gadgets to replace it. It's been so long since I read reviews about their pasta dough, and many have given suggestions about it. In order to give my Atlas a second chance, I decided to give it a shot. The dough was what I focused on this time. Weighing the flour, eggs, and milk (10 oz. A total of two whole eggs weighing four ounces. The egg whites should weigh 2 ounces and the yolks 2 ounces. Here's what I can tell you A lot of the dough seemed too dry to me. Even so, I worked through my doubts without adding more water and the dough came together without a problem. resting the dough for about an hour, the dough was smooth and perfect! My jaw dropped when I heard what happened! In order to ensure that the Atlas would work properly, I anchored it to my counter top this time (I did not do that the first time around). I then rolled the dough three times with each setting, beginning It was breathtaking to see the sheets rolled up! This entire experience was completely different from anything I've ever experienced before. When I tried rolling the first time on this machine, it seemed intimidating, but with just the right dough, it was As a matter of fact, I remember feeling as if I needed three hands to even roll pasta comfortably the first time I used the Atlas. This time, however, it was a much simpler process, I rolled the sheets and passed them through the fettuccine and spaghetti rollers in a matter of minutes rather than hours. It was more than enough to have two hands. Despite the difficulties, the pasta came out beautifully and tasted great! I still intend to buy the three piece Kitchen Aid roller attachment, but only because I believe it will be more efficient. Truth be told, if time were not a valuable commodity in my house, I would really only need the Atlas. The machine does all the work, so all you have to do is start with good dough. When you start with good dough, nothing sticks to this machine. I've used it three times in the last week alone. I invited a friend over for dinner last night and then she tried the pasta that I hand rolled on this machine and she begged me to host a pasta making party for her, her 4yr old daughter, and my 4yr old son so I will. This machine will be functional for our girls and I have no doubt that they will be able to roll out the dough.

The company does not provide customer service for items that are defective
3/5

A pasta press I acquired in September 2017 was the first pasta press I owned. When the clamp was used five times, it In my attempt to contact Marcato directly, I contacted their email address provided on their website three times and received I was contacted by Amazon who then just said they would accept a return. The costs of the pasta press have gone up since I looked to buy another one. On principle I am opposed to paying for items that should never fail in the first place, or at least have a part replaced for free if that is the case.

This is quality
5/5

The time period. QUALITY is what we are talking about here. It really is necessary to order ONLY one matchine. We made 6 types of ravioli in the Bellemain Large Ravioli Maker, which was also purchased, our first night. Next, we cut Tag and Fett noodles from the remainder of the leftover scraps. Cleaning is a breeze! Wipe down with a towel and you're good to go. The dough we made consisted of 3 cups flour, 4 eggs, and 1 T oil. Make sure to run it through all the ways once on each setting and to keep folding it over when too long and cutting when needed. The best results can be achieved when you work together. Do not drink too much wine, as you will lose your focus. It was the best purchase I could have made right from the start. It paid off to do lots of research!.

A Marcato Atlas 150 Wellness is NOT an actual There are a lot of false claims being made in relation to this listing, including that this pasta maker is an authentic Marcato Atlas 150 (priced similarly as well)
3/5

There is a real one on the front that says, "Wellness. " The quality of this one is quite poor. The roller I received did not have a screw, so every time I tried to switch the settings to the next thinnest roller, the whole side came out (as shown in the The product is not for sale You can spend an extra $10 at Bed Bath and Beyond for a real one.
