As far as pasta making goes, I'm not new to it. I was raised in an Italian household, where my second language was the language of the parents For generations of American families, fresh pasta was a major part of Over the years, I have experimented with making fresh pasta for more decades than I would feel comfortable disclosing We had to "process" the matter until it was as good as science. Upon getting married, I kept up with tradition, first upgrading the machine my grandmother had given me, originally a straight-backed VCR This is from Here's a Cast-iron cookware and utensils for the country Using a noodle roller before cutting sheets of pasta works just as well. I thought it was hilarious. Folding chairs would be brought into the kitchen so we could use them to hang pasta from. All the damaged and cluttered things in the kitchen made it look like a junkyard )
This pasta drying rack might be the solution. It arrived just before Christmas Eve, for which I typically make a white wine seafood sauce over spinach fettuccine. That day, we unpacked it, and found that even I, the original mechanical klutz, could put it together and get it working in no time at all. Its wide base is wide enough to hold the pasta rack balanced, even when one or two arms are loaded with pasta, without ever rocking. The dowels have one end that is narrower than the other, so you know which is which to insert into the post hole. As soon as I loaded it up, it began to run. Eight of the arms of the cross-bone are long enough to hold a lot of pasta (four dowels are inserted halfway into the central post to create eight arms). There were four arms to offload into a clean, smooth kitchen towel out of four when I made a quadruple batch. At that point, however, they had sufficiently dried to remain distinct. The best part was that the doughy scraps that usually fall off were not all over the floor, but remained exclusively on the counter, directly under There will be no mess on the floor! In the same amount of time as it took to assemble, the rack was disassembled. Dismantle the central post by unscrewing it from the base, then remove the four dowels. Alternatively, if you find that your dough is so moist that your pasta has stuck to it, you can wash the rack pieces with hot, soapy water and an old toothbrush to scrub it as you need to. I like this a lot! The only thing I wish is I had found it sooner.
Assembling it was a snap, and the rods (including the center stand) are pretty There is a slight bend in one of the dowel rods, but it is not enough to warrant My husband used it when he laboriously created chicken soup from scratch last weekend along with homemade noodles (really, make the broth or the noodles, don't do both at the same time, no soup is worth two days). As I recall, I made about 8 servings of noodles, and this container held them all (even though I made my noodles super long, I'm still learning). It wasn't a big deal this time, but the only drawback I encountered this time was that the part of the noodle hanging over seemed to stay partially moist, probably because it was in contact with However, as soon as I removed my noodles from the stand, it dried out.
There are four arms of drying space, but when not in use, the machine is hard to disassemble. The key ring is now on my counter, out of sight, and I use it to hang my car keys, glasses, and eye glasses. My life is much more convenient if I do my own pasta because I don't have to assemble and disassemble kitchen equipment every time!.
Thanks for sending us the Large Wood Pasta Drying Rack, it looks very useful and looks nice. It's attractive and well made, and should prove very useful to us in the long run. An anchor rod made from a weak part of the wood with discontinuities in the grain was, however, made as a result of poor quality wood. The company can see the weak spot where the rod broke by looking at the attached photo. If you could send me a new rod, I would appreciate it. The broken rod is shown in the attached photos. Had it not been for one defective rod, I would have given it 5 stars. - Dennis Gonzales.
All the wood pieces were smooth to the touch, even the edges, and I assembled the rack in less than two There is plenty of space for hanging pasta to dry using the dowel rods. In my new pasta maker, I made fettuccine.
I was very impressed with the strength of the unit. My pasta recipe was 4 pounds of fettuccine, and this drying rack seemed to hold roughly a pound of pasta. It was a fantastic way to dry the pasta evenly without taking up much space (other suggestions included hanging it over chairs) and also saved me a lot of money! My overall opinion of this pasta drying rack is very positive!.
It's prone to tipping, so you must be careful if you move it after you have placed Putting the set together and taking it apart again are extremely simple and can be tucked into small spaces. You might want to think about something a bit more heavy duty if you frequently make pasta.
