When they are being used, how are those to be sanitized? This is usually put through a dishwasher, boiled, and then put back through the dishwasher. The first three bottles I put the lids on with very little force, it shouldn't take much force to seal the bottles. For the last three bottles I put them on with greater force. A significant amount of leakage was reported when one of the containers was shaken. It leaked very significantly no matter how tight I tightened the lid. Another lid went on that bottle and I got the same result. In any case, it can only be assumed that the threads or seal on the bottle in question are defective.

On the other two bottles, when shaken, they leaked as well, but to a lesser extent. The leaks were slowing down as the lids were tightened more and more, but they never stopped entirely. While I guess that would work for some things, I do not think it would work for applications involving alcohol or other aromatic substances that are trying to be kept from evaporating out or lids that are simply unreliable. There is no way to do it.
