Yes! In front of my regular napkins, I have cocktail napkins, which fit perfectly. They'd be fine on their own
I experimented with a sponge that was two inches in diameter. 5 x 4.5 inches 5 inches, and the sponge got a little tangled up in it. The napkin holder is probably too big, unless it's a large sponge.
It's between an inch and an inch and a half, I believe. It's the standard size for a napkin holder.

We needed a napkin holder that wouldn't fall over or take up too much space on the table. I'm happy to report that this was the ideal napkin holder; it's made of heavy iron and holds napkins securely without taking up a lot of room. Apart from the fact that it is made of iron, what I like best about this holder is that it has a clean, simple, but elegant design that is nicely painted. I liked that it came in a variety of colors, and I chose white because classic unpainted iron, which I preferred, was not an option. It arrived in good condition, well-packaged, and freshly painted; this isn't a cheap paint job! I'm happy to have this in my house, and I'm not ashamed to have it on the table!.
Quality control is a pain in the neck! The napkin holder is both functional and attractive. But it arrived TODAY, 4/21/21, with a massive chip on top. And normally, I'd dash to the nearest Amazon return and send out location to have it swapped, but I recently relocated, and returning this crap is a 30-minute drive there and back. So I'm driving an hour round trip to return something that should have been quality checked before leaving the factory. And I'm confident it wasn't damaged in transit because it was bubble wrapped so tightly that you couldn't see what was inside. There were no tears or holes in the bubble wrap, and it was in excellent condition. So it was damaged before it went into the perfectly intact bubble wrap, and no one cared enough to say, "hey, I bet we shouldn't give them this particular damaged one because they are paying actual money for it. " ”. But, no matter, it came to me this way. Shameful. I'm not going to return the item because I don't want to drive an hour to do so. So, basically, I just bought something that I'll have to paint with red nail polish before I can use it as part of my center piece. It's a real bummer. I'm not going to buy anything from this company again. Apart from the chip, it's attractive and appears to be well-made right out of the box.
I needed a napkin holder to go with my Pioneer Woman decor, and this was perfect!.
This is a lovely napkin holder, but it's difficult to take only one napkin at a time because they all fall out when you take one.
It's solid and long-lasting. My only gripe is that the exterior finish (painting, powder coating, or whatever) had visible holes. It wasn't bad enough to warrant a return, and you only notice it if you look closely at it. Details can be found in the image.
This napkin holder appeals to me because of its design, color (light turquoise) and weight. Unfortunately, I expected it to be a good size for lunch napkins (the square kind), but it appears to be intended for dinner napkins (the rectangular kind), which is disappointing - However, if that's what you're after, give it a star. I'm still debating whether or not to send it back. br>br>It was more difficult to put together than you'd think for something with only two main parts (and one screw holding them together). In fact, I hadn't anticipated the need for assembly. It came in a plastic bag with those two main parts, a small screw, and two slightly sticky pads (to pad the bottom of the holder so it wouldn't scrape the table surface), all of which were thrown together without even a small piece of paper to list the parts. I was about to throw away the bag when I noticed these two black things. I picked one up and discovered it was sticky, so I realized I shouldn't throw them away. Then I threw the bag away, and I had to dig it out of the trash to find the screw! (Because it was painted turquoise to match the unit, replacing it would have been nearly impossible. ) ) The screw was tucked away in a corner of the bag, but it was still there. It's just a good thing I didn't misplace it. After a few minutes of fiddling, everything came together, but the overall experience was a little irritating.
The product itself is very nice, but what is upsetting is that it came in a brown envelope with no items wrapped in anything, and because it is made of metal with an enamel finish, it was chipped during shipment from banging against each other.
It's perfect for paper napkins that are "lunch size"! When trying to get one napkin out, it doesn't tip or wobble at all.
