This was purchased to use for times when you do not want to use your dishwasher, for example, while serving a small meal or when you do not want to put fine items in the dishwasher, such as your pots and fine glasses. My counter is black and I did not want an unsightly dish rack sitting there, and I didn't want something that would scratch the surface of the counter when I put pans on it. The fact that this works perfectly and can actually absorb a lot is impressive. The large size is great for putting multiple pots and dishes in the dishwasher and you can wash it in the washing machine, if necessary. It would be highly recommended.

The directions state that it must be washed before use. My washing machine shredded it despite the delicate cycle. The phone has never been used.

These are great! I'm very pleased with them. They are easy to wash and I bought a few so I can keep them clean. Under my dish drainer, all the other products I have tried constantly get lime deposits and are impossible to clean off, so I thought these would be a better solution since they can be cleaned in a washing machine. I hand wash all my dishes, so I am so glad I found size of 18 x 24 fits perfectly on my old style roll edge counters from the 1970s.

In my search for a mat large enough to fit my dish rack/ strainer, I was looking for size. Although this mas was a perfect size, it was not the only thing it was good at. A mat like this one will not absorb water. There is just a pool of water at the top, and you either need to wring it out after every use or dry it in the dryer. Either way, you can just let the water accumulate It is a waste.
