Thankfully, I did what we all do when we come up with an idea that appears to be too good to be true: I did what we all do when we come up with an idea that appears to be too good to be true. I went to Amazon and found these adorable little things. There were other options, to be sure, but these are the best. How do I know it's the best? That's how. I can't imagine them getting any better. Why should you put your faith in someone who took this long to discover the existence of good towels? You make an excellent point, but believe me when I say that you are mistaken. Alternatively, you can go somewhere else and take your chances. It's your Amazon and your money, after all! ) Have fun shopping, drying, or doing whatever else you want with these fantastic towels. br>br>I take the time to write reviews because I know that when I buy something on Amazon, I rely heavily on honest reviews. Please let me know if my review was of any use to you!.
It's only dishtowels, so don't get your hopes up. They can be used to dry dishes, mop up spills, and dry hands. or any other kitchen task that requires a towel. For years, I've used bar towels and have never been completely satisfied with their size, quality, or performance. In every way, these towels are perfect. br>br>I tossed them in the washer (on cold) as soon as I got them. There *might* have been some shrinkage with the size of these towels (I wash almost everything on cold) and then in the dryer (normal setting) and there *might* have been some shrinkage with the size of these towels- They're enormous- What does it matter? To make one of these "shrunken" towels, I'd need two or more of my old towels. Would you really do a separate load of laundry for your kitchen towels? I wouldn't do it. As a result, I treated them as if they were my own! They are substantial. br>br> They're almost canvas-like in appearance, but they're not stiff. Each of the four edges has been completed. The weave is extremely tight, and if I were embroidering a towel, this would be the one I'd choose. The colors are pleasant and go with almost any kitchen color scheme. br>br>However, the most crucial part for me is. they DRY. I picked one up and dried my hands after I had washed them. When I was finished, they were completely dry. If you've ever had poor-quality towels, you understand how important this is. They are equally effective at drying dishes. I even mopped up the spilled water on the counter. I drank it all in one sitting. br>br>The hanging loop on these towels is on the corner, which is a minor flaw. Normally, this would not be an issue, but if I used the loop to hang this massive towel from a hook inside my cabinet door, it would hang down past the door and onto the floor. Instead of putting the loop in the middle of a side, I wish they had put it in the middle of a side. Despite this, I believe I will be giving these as Christmas gifts this year- Who wouldn't benefit from a set of gorgeous dish towels? br>br>It's one of those simple, everyday things that you don't think about much- until you've done so. Without a doubt, this is a five-star product!!.
These towels are lovely. They absorb a lot of liquid and don't leave any lint on your glassware. The colors are vibrant and lovely, and the craftsmanship is superb. My Step- Some of these towels belong to my daughter's grandmother, who claims to have had them for over 30 years! I believe it because she, like me, does not discard items simply because they are old. Hers don't have any holes, the hems are still in good shape, and they appear to be just as absorbent as mine. I'd used them several times at her house and didn't realize they were the same ones until I saw the colors of the stripes on hers when I ordered my Harringdon Towels. Hers aren't quite as white as they used to be, so I'm going to recommend that she get some Rit Whitening Powder for them. These towels are also quite large, but they fold or roll nicely to fit into my kitchen drawer, as I do. I'm overjoyed that Harringdons continues to produce the same high-quality products they did all those years ago. br>However, I recommend washing them alone or with other items that don't have lint, such as terrycloth, because lint gets on them and is difficult to remove. When I first got them, I made the mistake of washing them with my new dishcloths, and I had to brush all of the lint out and use a tape-down method to keep them clean. It was worth it, because they're now exactly how they should be, and I won't make the same mistake again. I would strongly advise anyone to purchase these. Quality like this is hard to come by these days, but this company appears to still believe in producing products with the same care as they did 30 years ago. Thank you very much, Harringdons.
HOWEVER: They don't soak up any liquid! It's a real pain. At Crate and Barrel, I purchased a new set of wine glasses. All of them were washed in a hot, soapy water bath. And I attempted to dry them using these towels - Burlap absorbency is about as good as it gets. For kitchen towels, I recommend using old flour sacks - THEY are now taking in.
