This jacket was a Christmas present for my mother, and she absolutely adores it. She was constantly complaining that her aprons did not cover enough of her clothing and that she was ruining her shirts while cooking due to grease and other spills. This one appealed to me because the dark denim has a nice look to it, and the sleeves can be rolled up and kept in place thanks to the strap that holds them in place. Because my mother is small (5'1") and has short arms, this was a critical feature for her. It also fits her well and is long enough to cover any shirts she may be wearing while cooking. She wouldn't let me take a picture to accompany the review, so I couldn't post it.
I work as a pastry chef in a restaurant and purchased this to keep my arms safe from the oven doors and racks. It's a fantastic jacket. After I started wearing this every day, I didn't get any more burns. I've gotten a lot of compliments on how nice and professional it looks. It's thick enough to keep your arms safe from injury while also being breathable enough to keep you cool. After washing and drying, there was no visible shrinkage. I followed the sizing chart and it fit perfectly; it was a little roomy, but in a good way that allowed for plenty of movement.
I went up a size in the hopes of it fitting my breasts, but it didn't. The XL fit over the bust, but it hung weirdly in the back, loose in the back, and tight around the waist, with arms that were about 4" too long. I'm guessing the fit wasn't made for a woman's body, particularly one with breasts and hips. Annoying!.
The coat has a very classy appearance. I really like how feminine this outfit is. Because I'm curvy, regular chef coats tend to look boxy on me. This one fit perfectly and promoted my curves while still 100% professional.
It has a sheen to it, but it isn't gleaming. The arm device pocket is a little awkward for me, and I don't use headphones in the kitchen, but it comes in handy for other things. I wish there was a breast pocket, but that would detract from the overall appearance. I keep groping my boob for a pocket that doesn't exist, and despite the fact that I am a women's size 8, I ordered a medium instead of a small after reading one review. I wish I'd gone with a smaller size. It's not humongous on me, but it's definitely roomier than I'd like, so I'm hoping it shrinks down to a more flattering fit once it's been washed.
Fits perfectly, looks great, is made of a very comfortable fabric, and has just the right amount of bells and whistles to be extremely useful. I'm 5'5' and 36DD, and the large was tailor-made for me. I bought another and have put away my other coats for the time being, keeping the white one for cheese making and such.
I'll stick with my Chefworks side zip 2x for now because it's a little tight and lacks side vents.
For the first time, I didn't have to return it because it was too small; it fits perfectly.
