Having tugged and snapped them repeatedly, I was able to get them to separate. This means that they are not ripped or torn. Their flat design allows them to lay against your clothing comfortably. A very misleading picture. I bought it 3 weeks ago for added protection for workers since they were in dire need of a I'm laughing at this terrible product and picture because it is so inaccurate. I received aprons that measure approximately 40 inches from top of tie to bottom of apron. I doubt that a woman of 5' 3" could wear them comfortably. Maybe a child can. They are very weak as far as strength is concerned. It would have been better for me if I had purchased a contractor's trash bag and made my own out of Although I did not expect so much, I still was.
