No surface coating is applied to the fabric in this case. You can wipe it for a quick clean or you can machine wash it for a thorough clean.
My opinion is that it is not the case. The times when I washed dishes with it on and got soaked to the skin were when major water accidents occurred. If I used the blood and parts from animals, I wouldn't know what to do. For the occasional splattering of food, this is okay, but, based on my observation of fish and game cutters, they usually have some heavy plastic or heavy duty vinyl apron covering on them, which this doesn't have. I'm not sure.

When I first saw this apron, I loved it. I was so happy with it that I bought one for a friend as a gift. A year and a half later, it's time to replace them because they're covered in pills that attract dust or hair or literally anything you breathe in. If you iron and starch them, they are no longer crisp rather, they have kind of a wilted look. So I use them to clean out my garage since I wouldn't want guests to see me in them. Find out if this is the right option for you if you need a short-term apron. With minimal wear, but especially with an item like this, I expect it to last at least two and a half years. Several aprons that I have worn for 10 years look just as crisp and clean as they did then. There is no quality in the materials used in these. The fabric is the only thing not great about it. It is the length, the buckle and neck strap stability as well as the size of the pockets and the length of straps that are most important.

Our aprons were fine, but I was disappointed in them since it indicated they were from Chef Works, but they were not. Fame aprons were provided to each of us. According to the description, the picture and description are inaccurate if said they are Chef Works There is even a picture of the apron on the website showing Chef Works' logo. After searching the Internet and finding these, I ordered them because I thought I was buying authentic Chef Works, as stated in the description and photo.
My bust, however, is large. I am 5'6" and 240 pounds with a 42" neck. In my opinion, I would like an apron with bib & a decent size of collar & waist. This allows the bib to be raised to a proper level with the help of an adjustable neck strap. Occasionally, I deal with filthy sacks and return to sender boxes at my job with the USPS. By using this, I can prevent any stains from occurring on my clothes. The material is sturdy, yet neither too heavy nor too light.
In addition to holding back the tendrils of hair that always escape when I'm cooking, I also benefit from the neck strap since I have waist-length hair.
