One of my jars has a mouth that is just a little wider than 3 1/4". Although I do not have the 78 oz cannisters, I am willing to purchase them. In the pictures, it appears that all three sizes are made up of the same lid, so the mouth size is likely the same.

The question is how much cereal will fit in a container with a volume of 78 ounces, since cereal containers come in all shapes and sizes. The answer to that question is, it depends on what kind of cereal you are eating. If you realize that you can fit a lot more GrapeNuts than Rice Chex (since there is so much air space in Rice Chex and you can't pack them because they will crumble) then you can truly appreciate how useful this is. 8 ounces is equal to 1 cup (volume but not weight). Having an idea of the size of the project might be helpful. There is a claim on the web page that it will hold cereal very well. My search for a good product led me to compare different brands, so I decided to try these and I'm glad I did. I love the thick glass, the well-packaged product, and the airtight packaging, which makes this product the best I've found. The clamp lid will tell you how tight it is when you snap it. The test tube did not leak even when filled with liquid! My experience with this purchase was excellent. I bought two more sets and will be purchasing more in the future.
The things I mentioned were very important to me and I am not upset by their absence. As a point of comparison, I took a picture of them with a salad dressing bottle. There's only one thing I dislike, and I honestly don't have a complaint, that they hold 4 pounds of flour/sugar, but most of them hold Despite that, I am able to handle it. It is not easy for me to break the glass jars I own because they are dense and Glass jars like these are fragile and easily breakable since they are made from very thin glass. While I washed the glass jars on the sink, one of them broke. If these jars were subjected to high temperatures, I am not sure how they would hold up. If I could, I would return, but one of the links is.
I found them much smaller than they were listed, not as advertised. Holds only 64 ounces, not the listed 78 ounces.
They are dishwasher safe if you remove the grommet. I'm not sure if they are supposed to be. They are very hard to defeat My five-year-old swept the puzzle pieces off the counter to play with his hot wheels, then bounced them on the hardwood floor - it was just an absurd sight. We thought these jars were the perfect size, easy to clean with large openings, and were just the right size. wire closing tab is the only CON so far. The door will slam into the glass with a big bang when it snaps shut. You can often catch your finger while protecting the glass and it hurts like a dog. I'm worried about the glass shattering if I let it slam shut repeatedly. It has a metal tab when closed that is a half inch You can easily open and close this gently. The glass set I have would be improved if it had this feature. We are exploring a Macgyver-type solution to this problem now.
They were packaged in a way that one was broken. Since there was a crack along one corner of the board, it was more than likely done prior to shipping. We use them for dry fruit and spices because they are airtight and they can be used to store spices or open fruit packs.
