What is the onion of equal opportunity? Taking a moment to acknowledge how much I appreciate the design and build quality of these canisters, I am providing this feedback. There is only one complaint I have, and that is that the onion canister is a little small compared to the others. **I was only able to fit two in comparison to the other two.
As soon as I opened the box, I thought it would be small, but when I put my potatoes in, I realized it was enormous. Actually, you can see the size it holds in the description. A photo of 2 lbs of potatoes is in this one. It's a great product with a strong quality and a good price. I was hesitant to order it because there were no reviews, but I'm glad that I did. The purchase was great from start to finish. Glad to hear that.
As I ended up buying two sets, I decided that the onion size is too small. The large potato size was changed to onions, one of the onion size containers was changed to shallots and the other one was turned into young potatoes with chalkboard labels. One of the containers is the garlic size and it's just right. These containers keep the produce from sprouting, an issue I was having previously.
When I bought this canister set several months ago, I used it to clean off my kitchen floor and place potatoes and onions onto the counter. I love the idea of the onion containers, but wish there was one with a larger capacity. In the potato canister, five to six pounds of potatoes can be stored comfortably, while the garlic canister is large enough to hold 15 medium-sized bulbs of garlic. Despite this, I am unable to fit three pounds of onions in the onion canister. Onions are more plentiful than garlic in my kitchen, and I buy three pound bags of onions almost every week. I have shown the eight onion pieces in my pictures for three pounds of onions. It is impossible for me to place the lid on the onion container when there are three pounds inside. It is best to use the onion container It is recommended that you only carry 5 or 2 pounds. The reason I do not want standing storage units in my kitchen is because I do not want my floor cluttered. The canister set I have is too small, so I will keep searching until one that is larger turns up. By storing excess onions in another area, I am able to get around this issue, but that defeats the purpose of getting these bins in the first place. A second thing that I found annoying about this set was the fact that all canisters are printed with the words "Vintage Storage. ". If it is labeled as vintage, it does not appear to be vintage. Having the label on the product undermines its charm and I view this as overkill marketing. Providing you are not planning on using more than two pounds of onions and do not mind canisters that constantly remind everyone that these are not really vintage, then this set can be a good value. In addition to removing the vintage labels, I would like to see the onion canister made large enough to hold a 3 pound bag of onions otherwise, I will repurchase this product and give it a 5 star rating.
You're doing a great job! This is exactly what I wanted and I like the way they look in my pantry. As of now, they have been keeping everything up to date for about a month. These would have been great if I had purchased them years This is a great value for the quality. My recommendation is to go for it.
I like it a lot. Neither the coating nor the print have any blemishes. There is plenty of space for the potato bin. I am satisfied with the size of the garlic bin. It is clear that the onion bin is not up to par. Would have liked it to be a bit bigger. like the vintage feel, I don't think I need to have the bins say "vintage storage" to make me feel that way. For the price, this is a wonderful product.
At last, I can put my potatoes and onions to good use. The keeper was big enough to fit all my potatoes and all but one onion, but since I keep my garlic peeled in oil, I placed the extra onion in it. I like it!.
For my onions and garlic, I needed a way to keep the skins off my counters and not be splattered all over the place. I found these to be the best Beautiful canisters. I love the look of them. All are as pictured on the web site. The only thing I would change is to make the onion holder the same size as the potato holder, as I use a lot of onions and can't fit as many in it as I'd like.
This is the only negative thing I have to say. The fact that I raised money for a small business is also important to me, as was the fact, that it came with a thank you note.
