In a nutshell, We have bought two of these so far. For the past two years, we have been using the first one in our travel trailer. So we bought one for our household so that our kids stop pulling out the roll and wasting paper towels every day because it unraveled. We really like it, and it works great, so we thought we might as well have one. There is a lot of noise with the new model. I am not sure how this has changed from the past two years, but our old one did not make this obnoxious clicking noise. I am going to give it some time and see if we can learn to ignore it or start looking for a new one. Since it appears to be very sturdy, there should be no loose parts or broken parts creating this noise. Unfortunately, as good as it is, it is now obsolete. The ETA is Several attempts were made to upload video of both holders, but it seems Amazon is refusing to allow it to do so.

I would like to say that this is by far the best paper towel holder I have used. The perfect tear is the right size and the thickness is just right. In the world of paper towel holders, this may seem of little importance on the surface, but anyone who has ever needed a paper towel, fast and one handed, knows how flimsy most of them are. Ones that stand on top of the counter topple over or worse, fly away sending a sheet of paper towel It is a common problem with all of the mounted "Bathroom TP Style" ones to leave the roll spinning free, causing a nice mountain of paper towels to pile up on the counter once it does. Lastly, there are those that use friction. Many of them have a death grip on their rolls so that it is difficult to pry more than a corner of a sheet from them. Most of the time, all you get back is a shred the size of your thumbnail. all, there are a lot of poorly designed holders out there, and some really ugly ones as well. I would like to introduce you to this fantastic towel holder with I did not like that the plastic screw anchors that came with it were useless. The mounting was easy as one would expect. When you can't screw it into a stud or other wood frame, you'll have to use drywall anchors that work much better. My personal opinion is that a set of inexpensive wall anchors is a must have in the home for exactly Ensure that it is positioned in a space where there is enough clearance for the largest rolls of paper towels you commonly My favorite Bounty product is the Select a Size Huge Rolls, which are massive in size. In my photos, you can see the difference between the huge rolls and regular rolls. Furthermore, you can see that I didn't give too much clearance to the huge rolls. That's all there is to it. While I find it appealing, some people might find it annoying. As the roll turns out, there is a satisfying clicking. Though initially the dogs did look at it funny, they have since grown indifferent to It is also known as quality control. Here we may be faced with a problem. The ratchet mechanism has been noted as having failed in more than one review. This is further complicated by the fact that the ratchet designs may vary depending on the finish. According to all accounts, this does not bode well for the engineers at Kamenstein. The mixture of old (failing) models and new (improved) models may also have been what some have seen. Without a Kamenstein representative, it is difficult to comment on the subject. The manufacturer has given some hints and provided photos as well for those inclined to try. It may still be worth the effort to repair the holder if needed. At $10 to $15 if I'm able to improve my quality of life for a year or two, I will be satisfied even if I do not go to that effort (which I will do if necessary). I have one more thing to say. In closing, I don't want to be a moralist, but what's wrong with fixing things when they work? In the past, we did this all the time, but lately we have developed a mentality that says everything is either meant to last forever or need to be replaced when broken. My favorite thing to do is fix things, and I often am able to improve on them as I do so. To decorate my kitchen, I originally got this style with a pointy end. The one in my work room was so nice, I bought a second one. As you can see, I got the blunt end in the color These work great if you want to use them! It holds the roll firmly, and you can rip off a sheet without getting a half-mile long trail of towels behind you, so you only get the sheet you need. never again will the old kind be installed on the second hole. My experience is that it is rare when I have hit the home run with an order, but this is a phenomenal product. It is well built, sturdy, understated and elegant, and is mildly ratcheted ("perfect tear technology") to prevent unrolling. This towel roll is strong enough to prevent towels from unrolling twice, but flexible enough to remove with ease, even without holding them.
