This is by far the worst operational do-it-yourself project I've ever worked on. I've never installed a self-installed item before. I'd like to tilt one of the drawers out to store sponges and a sink stopper. I managed to ruin the first set of hinges, so I treated them as a warm-up. The drawer is opened and closed by the hinge. The problem is the amount of FORCE delivered by these devices. Elon Musk could have saved money on that rocket launcher base if he had been aware of these springs. I'm confident that at least ONE of these things could reach the stratosphere. These aren't "Quiet Close," as the box states. There's some serious SNAP ACTION going on here. I've set Rat traps with less torque than this. And what about those dreaded Adjuster Screws? Only for the sake of appearances. It's a good thing I put the sponge in the tray before calling my husband over to see what I'd done. While attempting to close the door, it helped absorb the blood from his crushed fingers. Consider having a family member who is a trained EMT with access to Jaws. Once it has clamped down on your fingers, you'll need a life tool to pry it open. It gets a one-star rating from me. Oh, and 5 stars for cleaning ease, because we'll never risk a limb to get our sponge out of this thing. It will be forever imprisoned in the dark. (Also, take this as a warning to yourself. ) If you ever sell your house, you'll have to include this item under KNOWN ISSUES. Best wishes to you.
Someone should be able to sell a slim product and read a tape measure. At its widest point, I'm 2 3/16" wide. br>I needed a slim design for my application at the kitchen sink, and these won't work. The dimensions of the box are incorrect as well. The only reason I gave two stars is because I purchased some for my bathroom sinks as well, and they will fit because I have more than two inches available. Now I have to spend more money as a result of your generosity.
Although the units were in good condition, the website listed them as 1-star. 9/16 inch is a measurement that is used to describe the width of a piece of Because I bought them as thin units, depth was crucial. They were 2 inches thick at their thickest point when they arrived. They'd be too big to return in such a short amount of time. It was partly my fault because the 2 inch depth was mentioned in the comments, but the website could do a better job of stating the dimensions. Everyone could have saved time and money if they had had better information.
Convert that unused storage space to something useful. If you have access to the cabinet's top, toss the instructions out and leave the drawer fronts alone.
1. Close the hinges with caution, as they will forcefully close on your fingers and bite you.
2. The top screw will secure the hinges to the frame. (From the cabinet's interior)br>3. Attach the hinge to the drawer front with screws.
4. Open the drawer by removing the screws that hold the drawer front to the (false drawer)cabinet. The frame's final hinge screw can now be screwed in.
5. Put baskets in the corners. br>br>It's a nice product; the baskets could be a little thicker, but everything else appears to be of good quality and less expensive than the other brand. br>br>I would certainly recommend them to others.
First and foremost, I am extremely pleased with the lightning-fast delivery. This kit's online vendor is quick and responsive. Everything has turned out to be [almost] exactly as I had hoped. br>The trays are just plain plastic, but I wasn't expecting much more. If you need a 70 to 90 degree opening angle (from vertical), the hinges will suffice. The hinges can be set to stop at 45 or 50 degrees, but if you release them, they will snap shut. They start to stay open on their own around 70 degrees (and beyond), at which point you can let go of the drawer and it will stay open. These will be ideal for drawers or flip outs that require that much space to open. Unfortunately, that isn't what I require (I require a 45/50 degree temperature range). The trays will most likely be used, but I'll have to look for hinges elsewhere. The size of my opening is a problem with those. The majority of the time, The hinges we use require an opening that is just over 4 inches tall; mine is just over 3 inches tall. 3/4. This was the primary motivation behind my purchase of this kit. It is not simple or easy to remodel a house.
This product provided good value for money. I would have gone with 5. If I had known the following information when placing my order, I would have given it a higher rating.
Note: The set screws on the hinges to adjust angle of opening are great, and the fronts tip out to exactly the position desired, which are some of the best instructions I've ever seen for any hardware, cabinet, or furniture product. br>It's simple to set up - just follow the instructions. However, be cautious about applying the marks to the false front interior as instructed. To squarely align the hinges to the opening, use your own measurements. If you try to follow the instructions and use the pencil marks, you'll end up with hinges that are more than 1/8" off on each side. br>When sizing, be careful: br>I had two cabinets, each weighing 14 pounds. 3/4" wide x 4" long This bin has a 3/8" tall opening. The bins labeled "14 inch" are 14 inches in length. Because they are 3/4" wide, they rub against the opening's sides. Furthermore, because the hinges take up more than half of the available space, the bin would be too high to use on the false drawer front. I'm replacing the 14-inch bins with 9-inch bins, but I have other cabinets where I can put these 14-inch bins. I use 3/4" bins, so it's not a problem for me. br>If the height of your false front opening is less than six inches, Bins should be given the same consideration. If you want to use both bins, you'll need openings that are at least 17" wide for each, or 34" wide for a single false front when using both bins.
The quality and ease of installation have blown me away. At first, I made things more difficult for myself by not reading the instructions before getting started. So I removed the drawer fronts to paint them and pre-finish them. To match the drawers, drill holes for the new handles on the fronts. Well. Prior to removing the drawer fronts, the instructions stated that I should mark the opening from the inside. So, with the fronts out, I measured the inside of the openings and drew a square on the back of each front that matched my measurements. Because I double- and triple-checked my measurements, this added about 30 minutes to the process. It only took ten minutes once that was done. Installing each tray takes 15 minutes. They function flawlessly, and the hinges are extremely durable and well constructed. This is a product that I wholeheartedly endorse.
