Although it seemed difficult at first, if you use a little bit of force you can move the seal to the side. The seal will not tear and there are holes under the seal to hold the screws into place. Move the seal (only the part where the screws go in) to the left when you open the door. Basically, you want to pull (or push) the right side of the seal to the left in order to see the hole where the screw goes. With one hand, hold the handle on the outside of the cap and one hand, turn the screwdriver. It will then cover everything up including the screw entirely as the seal goes over it. Please accept my sincere thanks for your assistance.
Champagne is not something I drink, so I cannot say for certain. There are adjustable shelves that can be removed, though it is not sure how wide a Champagne bottle would be. There is 750 ml in my order. There are no issues with fitting the bottles as they are normal
