Questions & Answers

Is this product able to be used without oil, or does it require oil to be used?

There is a big difference between using oil and not using oil. There should be a more thorough popping of the kernels. Adding 1 to the second line of the container, I fill it up to the second line. The canola oil should be 5 tablespoons. My goal is to wet each kernel of corn with oil by stirring it vigorously. I put the Hot Pop in the microwave for 2 minutes and 35 seconds. As I transfer the popcorn, I add a pinch of sea salt to each transfer until the whole bowl has been transferred. Once everything is transferred, I gradually transfer the popcorn to a larger salad bowl a portion at a time. Popcorn is my favourite snack. I have my Hot Pop for six months and enjoy it every day! As of yet, no damage has been done to the container. Popcorn this good is the best I've ever had! As of yesterday I had stopped buying bags of corn chips (usually $4-$6 per bag Bags are $5 each). Popcorn bags of whole kernels are all I buy. However, Orville Redenbacher has always been my favorite, even though they all work well for me. I challenge you to Google the health benefits of popcorn and you may never again be tempted to buy corn chips! The fiber content alone is worth it to me, as I have a fitness obsession! I wish you all the best and wish you a happy new year!

What is the material of the lid first? I believe the bowl is silicon, but what is the material of the lid? What is plastic? Do you prefer silicon or brass?

As for the lid, it is made of silicone, as well. I love it, thanks for sharing! I use it every time and love it!

Is there a lot of popcorn left after you pop it?

A cup pops about three quarters of the way, which is around five. You will need 3 teaspoons. To give you an idea of how much microwave popcorn a large/standard bag holds, it's approximately However, the bagged popcorn leaves many fewer kernels unpopped, so the volume of cooked popcorn should be quite a bit larger than the difference in raw volume would imply. The amount of food in two batches of Hotpop should correspond to three large microwave

Do you have to have a microwave that has a certain wattage?

There is no point in worrying about it. The power I use is 1000 watts, and I assume that if yours is less, you just leave it on

It was a conversion for Bonafide Popcorn Snob
5/5

To me, popcorn belongs to one of the food groups. It's my favorite food, so I grow it myself from organic seed stock I got from a hippie who spent 20 years figuring out how to grow it best in my microclimate It's the weather. Yep, that's what I meant. Whenever I am craving popcorn, I eat it. Since I was a kid I made it from scratch on the stove with a saucepan and oil. You should not do it it's extremely dangerous. A few times I've almost set my kitchen on fire. It's fun to explain the scorch marks to my husband in a way that makes me sound like I should be trusted with the kitchen alone. Trying this to save my marriage and my house was part of my effort to save my marriage and house. The project seemed super duper unlikely at first -- I was skeptical that it would work It would be good for me if dad worked In reality, it's It would be remiss of me not to mention this It is better to do it on the stove than on the grill. While my timing isn't right and I end up with about 15% old maid popcorn, the popcorn turns out tender nevertheless. I have a microwave that is also possessed by a disgruntled old man who refuses to do anything in a timely manner, and won't let you pass him on the interstate because his last 3 dogs were named Bob and So it is likely not the silicone gadget's fault that Bob III won't be able to perform.

Pros The following *br Popcorn that is tender - The surface is easy to clean - - We won't have to waste our money on divorce lawyers. - The teal color is very pretty
Firemen from the local station are no longer on a first-name basis with me

Cons The following *br Perhaps the microwave is to blame for some old maids. There's no longer a first name basis between me and the local firefighters.

Having a hard time stopping eating popcorn now
5/5

In a nutshell, There are several reasons why I like this product I am sick of microwave popcorn (too greasy), expensive popped popcorn, and hauling out my West Bend Stir Crazy is a lot of work and clean-up. As per the directions, I measured out one quarter cup of kernels, and based on a suggestion from other reviewers, I mixed in one teaspoon of peanut oil, and microwaved it -- on our microwave, the "popcorn" setting works perfectly. Almost all of the kernels have not burned and there are very few unpopped ones. A quick and easy way to clean It is easy to clean with a soapy sponge. As it is made of flexible silicone rubber, it will fold and collapse into 1/4 the height seen in the picture, so it is easy to store. There is a good chance I will purchase some of these for friends and.

Exactly what I wanted
5/5

This is the best thing I've ever bought A ball. Heat popcorn in the microwave without all the bad salt and butter The crappy stuff. The mechanism is collapsible as well. You can fill up their first line with 1/4c of popcorn for about five and a half cups Popcorn of the fluffliest perfection, half a cup. The kernels the I used made 2 cups of popcorn from 1Tbsp of kernels. Single size. I was left with a lot of kernels at the bottom of the bowl my first time using 1/4c, but I scooped them out and put them back into the bowl with the unpopped kernels, so I could make another 1&1/2c. One and a half cups If you use premium kernels, the popcorn will turn out crisp and fluffy. If you don't want to use oil, you can do without it. A bowl was filled with all kinds of oil, all kinds of no oil and unrefined and refined coconut oil. There were no differences in the fluffiness or crispiness between the different However, the two best tasting ones were the plain no oil one and the virgin unrefined organic coconut oil that gave it a nutty taste. It will still be less sodium than the microwave popcorn purchased from the store. Put it in another bowl and eat plain or add salt, butter, flavoring, etc. Despite making four bowls back to back without any burns, none of them melted. In using the slowing down method of listening, I did hear the pops. I have an 1110 watt microwave and it takes about 3 minutes to cook a frozen meal. I have already completed 5 of them. I will be gone for 4 minutes.

Although it's rapid and easy, the tub handles become really hot if you pop more than one tub at a time
4/5

The Panasonic microwave works well at 2 I tested it on a 1250 watt model A timer set to full power will take 50 minutes. I deducted one star because, when I used 1/3 cup of Jolly Time popcorn (which takes it up to lower line level inside the popper, that always leaves about 2 inches of popcorn behind The kernels are unpopped in 3 tbsp. When I remove the popped kernels, I can put the unpopped ones back in for a moment or two and most of them will But what if I just extend the original cooking time? I have never tried this, but I worry that it might burn the already-popped Since using oil would be counterproductive to why I purchased this in the first place, I do not use it. Although I don't get why the rest of the kernels do not pop in the original time frame, I am willing to live with the wasted kernels since using it is incredibly simple, hassle free, and involves almost no cleanup other than wiping out the insides afterwards. For 99% of the Jolly Time kernels, you will need 3 tbsp of oil. As a result of seeing a lot of 1 Star reviews, I'm no longer able to rely upon them and think some reviewers purposely falsely promote products or set up bogus reviews. This microwave tub works well when used as directed and according to advice to do test runs to determine the length of time to microwave in one's microwave. It doesn't burn popcorn when used properly. Most people can set their timers to 3 minutes or 3 minutes plus 15 seconds and then stand by, listening for signs of kernel popping stopping and adding up the remaining time left, to be subtracted from the starting time, to determine a more accurate time in the future to set the timer. When popping lapses have reached three, that's when problems arise If there is still silence for five seconds, then the door must be opened and the tub must be removed. One student was left at that point, but all the others A total of 2 tsp will not be popped. The HOTPOP tub catches my attention mainly in terms of how hot the handles and body of the tub are (and how quickly the hotpup gets). As soon as one tub is opened, you can pop the remaining tubs without getting your hands too hot. The handles are too hot to handle if you pop more than one tub in succession. The silicone in the shower tub is reacting to the microwaves in some way, and generating heat in response to it. In some cases, the same thing may also be observed when microwaving something in glass cookware like Corningware. In terms of health benefits, I am not sure whether that is a negative thing with the HOTPOP, but I suspect it is harmless because the tubs do not leach oils that could harm other things that are heated in the dry environment of no oils penetrating the tubs. In my experience as a former restaurant owner, I was, and am, keenly aware of food safety, and I avoid using aluminum cookware in particular (since the jury is still out on whether aluminum leaches into liquids cooked with acidic ingredients such as tomatoes). For me, stainless steel is the only material I will cook with. When it comes to a product like this, I would say it is more than likely safe. The pinch test is never mentioned as a way to determine if something is 100% silicone like other reviewers do. When it comes to competing microwave popping tubs, there are so many brands that claim their product is 100% pure silicone on a stack of bibles. However, when you read the reviews, you will see that many 1 and 2 Star reviews show the inclusion of non-silicone in their designs. Silica is an ingredient in silicon. I'm not sure how I feel about this. As a final point of caution, we should refrain from putting any faith in silicone breast implants since silicone implants have proven to be very harmful to the health of women who have had silicone leaking into the body In other words, who is to say that it is even useful in a microwave scenario, for example. It all sounds false noise, and I think I can use this popper or other poppers that are the most popular on the market with no problem at all. My apologies for the detours in this review, but these are the sorts of things that come to mind as I decide what to share, that might be helpful or of value to keep in mind when reviewing the book. Having a stir is also on my mind.

I praise you from a cynic's perspective
5/5

It was amazing to see all five of them at once In response to my question of whether the HOTPOP corn popper would receive a high rating, I said, "No way!". But it was so reasonably priced that it seemed like a good opportunity to take a gamble without a lot of risk. I was surprised to find out that every single review was I used it today for the first time, and I found it to be a great product. A one-word description With just a quarter cup of kernels and about three minutes in the microwave, I had a bowl of perfectly popped My recommendation for this product is strong.
