Questions & Answers

Are there any limitations to the use of this product? Does it need oil to be used?

There has been a marked difference when I use oil. Make sure to pop the kernels By filling the container to the second line and adding 1, I have reached the maximum allowed. The oil of Canola should be 5 tablespoons. To ensure all the kernels are wet, I stir the oil about a bit. To microwave the Hot Pop, I first place it in the microwave for 2 minutes and 35 seconds. While doing the transfer, I add a pinch of coarse sea salt to each portion of popcorn as I move it slowly into a larger salad bowl. Once the transfer has been finished, I remove the popcorn from the bowl. The Hot Pop has been in my possession for 6 months now, and I eat popcorn on a daily basis! As of yet, there has been no damage to the container. There is no better popcorn I have ever tasted! Bags are $5 each). My husband and I just get whole kernel popcorn from the store. The Orville Redenbacher seems to pop the best for me, but all of them do they job well. It may not be necessary to buy potato chips or corn again if you look into the health benefits of popcorn! Fitness buff that I am, the fiber content alone makes it worth the price! I'd like to wish you a warm welcome and enjoy your stay!

What is the material of the lid? I know the bowl is silicon, but what is the material of the lid? What is plastic? Could silicon be a better alternative?

In addition to the lid, the device also includes Thank you for sharing, I loved it! Every time it works like a charm!

What is the amount of popcorn left after it is popped?

The pops hold about 5 ounces, so it takes a third cup to make one. There are three tablespoons in this recipe. As a comparison, a large/standard bag of microwave popcorn is approximately four tablespoons. Nevertheless, popcorn cooked in a Hotpop leaves far fewer unpopped kernels than bagged popcorn, so the overall amount of cooked popcorn may be much more than is apparent from the raw difference. Three large microwaveable bags should be roughly equal to two batches in the Hotpop.

Your microwave must have a power output of how many watts?

There's no point in worrying about it. Since mine is 1000 watts, I assume if yours is lower, you just leave it on for a longer period of time.

It Has Been Converted to a Popcorn Snob
5/5

As far as I'm concerned, popcorn belongs to the The passion I have for it is so strong I grow my own out of organic seeds I bought from a hippie who went to great lengths to perfect the variety to grow perfectly in my microclimate Describe the weather. Yep, that's the case. popcorn is one of my favorite foods. Nevertheless, I have been making my own homemade sour cream on the stovetop for years using a saucepan and oil. There is a great deal of danger involved Several times, I've had my kitchen nearly engulfed in flames. It's fun to explain the scorch marks to my husband in a way that makes it sound like we should be able to count on ourselves in the My marriage and my house were at stake, so I decided to take this risk. It took me a while to realize that this was the real deal It would be easier for me if Dad worked The problem is that it actually is Let me make a bold statement This is a better option than heating it up While my timing hasn't quite come out right, the popcorn comes out tender but with about 15% of Also, my microwave is graced by the spirit of a grey-haired old man who stubbornly refuses to do anything in a timely manner, never moves over on a highway so you can pass him, and names his last three dogs Bob and I don't think silicone gizmos are at fault for that, since Bob III was involved, so it is probably not their fault. Please note
Popcorn that is tender - The surface is easy to clean - You won't have to spend money on a divorce lawyer- The color is a pretty teal. Cons *I am no longer on a first-name basis with the local fire department*disadvantages Please note
There might be something wrong with my microwave, may be some old maids. - No longer am I on a first name basis with local firefighters.

Popcorn has become a guilty pleasure for me now
5/5

In a nutshell, I have been using this product for a long time. I don't like microwave popcorn (too greasy), a bag of good popped popcorn is quite expensive, and hauling out the West Bend Stir Crazy is too much work and too much cleanup. After I measure out half a cup of kernels, I stir in a teaspoon of peanut oil as per suggestion from other reviewers, and microwave the mixture for 15 seconds. We have tried it in our microwave and it works perfectly via the popcorn setting Almost all kernels have been popped, but a few remain unpopped. It is simple to clean The best way to clean a clogged drain is with a soapy sponge. As the popper is made of flexible silicone rubber, it folds/compacts to a quarter of the height you see in the picture, so it does not require a lot of storage There will be several family members who will benefit from these.

It is amazing what this thing can do A ball
5/5

Popcorn that you make in the microwave without the salt and fat What a waste. This is a collapsible chair. You can fill up to their first line with 1/4c of popcorn, it makes about 5 & 1/4c The perfect 1/2 cup of fluffly A tbsp of kernels made 2 cups of popcorn along with a tbsp of kernels. One size just doesn't make sense with the single size, I had lots of unpopped kernels left in the bottom of the bowl when I used the 1/4c, but I scooped it out and put it back in with the unpopped kernels and I got another 1&. A 1/2c serving The popcorn gives a crisp, fluffy, nice appearance when it is prepared with Oil is optional, but you can add a tiny bit if you like. As part of my experiment, I made a bowl of several variations of coconut oil refined, unrefined, and no oil at all. It held the same degree of fluffiness and crispiness no matter what version it was. In my opinion, the two best tasting oils were the pure, no oil oil and the virgin organic unrefined coconut oil that gave it a nutty taste. If you put the popcorn in another bowl, you can eat it plain or add salt, butter, flavoring, and so on. But it will still be less sodium than store-bought microwave popcorn. After four bowls that were cooked in a row, none of them Using the listening method, I slowed down the pops as I listened. The microwave I have at home, which is 1100 watts, uses about 3 minutes to heat the food. The following five points are the most important The time taken is 4 minutes.

Obviously quick and easy, but when popping more than one tub at a time I noticed the handles getting really warm, so be careful
4/5

I've got a Panasonic microwave of 1250 watts, and I've found that this tub works fine It is running at full power with a timer of 50 seconds. We are missing 3 tbsp of Once I remove the popped kernels, I can put the unpopped ones back in for one or two minutes and get them most of the way So what if I just extend the original cooking time? Although I haven't tried it, I feel it might cause the already popped kernels to burn. As a result, I do not use oil, since it would be counterproductive to the reason I bought the machine in the first place. However, since the rest of the kernels don't pop during the original time frame, I am willing to accept the wasted kernels since using this is so easy, hassle free, and needs no cleaning beyond wiping with a paper towel afterwards. Pop the corn with 3 tablespoons of oil to get 99% of the kernels to pop. As a result of seeing a lot of 1 Star reviews, I am not trusting them at all. I suspect there are some reviewers who purposely fabricate negative reviews or make inaccurate statements for reasons I do not comprehend. This tub performs fairly well as long as it's used as directed and the advice to use the product correctly in any microwave one owns is followed. It also doesn't burn popcorn when it's microwaved as directed. Many people would do well to set their timer for 3 minutes or 3 plus 15 seconds, and then stand by until the kernels have mostly stopped popping, noting the remaining time from their starting time so the next time they set the timer, subtract the remaining time to establish the optimum time. Three or more pop lapses usually indicate that a pop lapse has occurred If you wait five seconds, this is the right time to remove the tub and open the door. As of that point, only one of them had won You'll be left with 2 tsp of unpopped popcorn. As I was observing the hotpop tub, one thing I noted was how hot it was (on the handles as well as the tub itself). The handles can be gripped without pot holders once one tub is popped, but if you pop multiple tubs at a time, the handles become too hot to handle without In other words, there is something in the silicone's chemical composition that causes the tub to react to the microwaves and heat up. Sometimes, when reheating food in glass cookware, such as Corningware bowls, this can also be observed. Although I'm not sure if that is a negative thing with the HOTPOP, regarding health, I suspect it is benign since I do not believe there could be any transfer of materials inside the tub to things that are heated in a dry environment without oils to leach from the tub. Since I owned a restaurant for many years, I was keenly concerned with food safety (not using aluminum cookware since it has not yet been established whether aluminum can leach into liquids cooked with acidic ingredients such as tomatoes). I won't cook with anything unless it is stainless steel, so for me, it has to be steel. I believe it is most likely a safe product when it comes to a product like this. It has been noted that other reviewers have failed to determine whether something is 100% silicone by conducting the pinch test. There are many companies that claim to produce 100% silicone tubs, but when you read reviews for each one, you can see through pictures that the pinch test revealed the inclusion of other substances. This is not the appropriate standard to utilize in judging all of the different products being sold. There are silicon ingredients in silicone. There is something not quite right about this. Regardless of the result of the pinch test, are the manufacturers lying or are the reviewers not being honest. Look at it through a broad perspective, I believe it is a pointless attribute to define without testing to determine what is in the product if it is not pure silicone 100%. To finish up, regarding the safety of silicone, I would like to remind you that silicone breast implants have been proven to be extremely harmful to women who have experienced silicone leaking into their bodies as the result of Hence, who is to say that it is safe in a microwave popper situation. Rather than worrying about false claims, I think it is all a bunch of false noise and will feel entirely comfortable using what is currently on the market, or other brands that are popular in In spite of the fact that this review took a detour down so many tangents, these are the thoughts that came to mind when deciding what to share that may be helpful or worthwhile. My stomach is in a bit of a tizzy as well.

I salute you from the standpoint of All the five were there when I looked at them When I heard the HOTPOP corn popper was given a 5-star rating, I thought, "No, no, no
5/5

". But it was so reasonably priced that I thought it would be worth a shot, there was nothing In fact, I was surprised to find that all those reviewers were being honest. Using it for the first time today was a great experience. I was extremely pleased with the results. An one-word description After popping a quarter cup of corn kernels for about 3 minutes in the microwave, I had a bowl of perfectly popped popcorn that had My recommendation for this product is strong.
