Questions & Answers

What is the cost of buying the clamp to secure it to the floor separately or is it included in this version? I appreciate it. ?

Unlike other cameras, it does not come with a clamp, but you can buy one separately. Although I use it regularly, it does not slip from the side of my kitchen island.

What happens if you grind wet corn with the corn auger on this mill? It was a pleasure working with ?

This machine is only used to grind dry grains, and it does an excellent The blade on the grinder is unlikely to go through wet corn, since it will clump and clog.

What power does this have? Can you grind as much as 20 lbs a day for livestock, and is it suitable to grind with electricity or manually? What would you like to thank you for?

My husband set up the mill with an old washing machine motor and powered it with electricity the motor sold by the company is about $350 if I recall correctly. My husband made the mill run with electricity by converting the motor sold by the company. It operates well, only thing to remember is that you will void the warranty if you use anything other than the recommended It is definitely necessary to have a motor when attempting to grind 20 pounds. The average person works 60 hours a week. On a daily basis, it would take too long to grow that much grain using the bicycle method.

Grains and flour residue were found in the mill when we arrived. Do you know how this works or if it is normal?

I think it's a perfectly normal thing to do. In the instructions it says right in there that they test the mill by grinding it, and they also leave you a small bag of flour. Those flour particles are not cleaned In order to ensure you are comfortable using the product, it is tested before it is shipped.

Investing in this mill was such a great decision! Thanks for the grain mill! I love it! Although I had been admiring this mill for some time, and although I was fairly sure the product was worth the expense since I had heard so much about it from some of my favorite podcasts, the question was was it worth it to me, would I use it often, etc
5/5

The organic soft white wheat and organic hard white wheat berries were sent to me this week, and I'm now enjoying both. My favorite part of it is the colors! Beautifully built, this mill is a sight to behold. In spite of the fact that my husband built me a table for this machine, I can grind my wheat berries by hand. I like the taste of the freshly ground wheat flour in all my breads and am totally okay with this method. After getting the hang of it, it was much faster to grind up three cups of flour. At first, it was surprising just how long it took to grind up three cups of flour, but after getting the hang of it, it went much quicker. In order to ensure that both arms are equally worked, I do equal number of reps for each. It is incredible how productive I can be while getting an upper-body workout at the same time! Like my treadle sewing machine that works my legs and lower back, I love being able to do something productive while working There is one thing you should know the softer grains, while easier to grind, take about twice as long to grind as the harder grains. Although I have to use both arms to grind the hard berries, they go through the mill a lot faster. My days are planned that way, so I plan out my day in time to grind my flours. This is a great purchase for those who not only want to make healthier, more delicious breads for their family, but also for those who want to live (or are living) off the land. In grids.

The mill is fantastic! Grain Mills such as this one are great
5/5

As my first experiments, I bought popcorn for cornmeal and hard wheat for bread. Grinding the corn meal was more difficult, but it took less time than the hard wheat meal. The first time I tried to auger corn, I wasn't sure which auger to use. It was a pain in the butt for one person to switch the auger. We were able to do a great deal more with a pair of helping hands. As one of the keys shot out of the spring and fell somewhere in the basement, I thought I'd lost it! It does take a while to grind the hard wheat manually (enough for a loaf of bread), but it is easier than grinding the soft wheat. In the end, the results were great. A small motor or a bicycle is definitely more suitable if you want to travel at a higher speed. It is an excellent mill in its own right.

Bringing the dream of the homesteader to reality
5/5

In a nutshell About 12 pounds of spelt have been ground, and I have 2 cups of milk As of now, 3 pounds of hard red spring wheat and 3 pounds of rye have been harvested. The unit installed very easily. It is extremely well built. A motor is a must. Although it has a handle, you must rotate it 1000 times for 5 cups of flour to make it work. Grinding seems to have been going well. I don't expect this thing to wear out very You can buy a grain mill for a lot less if you're just looking to get started. Here's the package for everyone who is interested in a serious homesteading lifestyle and traditional foods.

I like this mill the best
5/5

The time period. I would rate it a 5 The product is well built and the instructions are very clear. The rice flour we use at home is made with this. The family member (with wheat issues) is allergic to wheat products. There's a lot of work involved, but if you run it at a coarse setting first, and then at a flour setting afterwards, you might find it more manageable. It has been a fun adventure getting comfortable with the mill, knowing where to place the setting wheel for the Among other things, I have used it to grind seeds, coffee, and so on This is the flour I've used I highly recommend this book. It does not contain any aluminum parts, and it seems to be well built. We have had it for several months now and it shows no signs of wear. There haven't been any attempts to connect the wheel to an electric motor, and we don't intend to do so. You can buy a kit to do that for a few hundred more dollars. The work is enjoyable without being encroaching on our lives (trust me, it is a good arm workout). There is an extension for the handle that gives more leverage if it seems too much. It is something we think about.

I love the way the flour tastes when it's fresh ground
5/5

I'm in love with the wheat flour produced by this mill. This flour gets the job done with quite a bit of energy. In the future, we may invest in the motor. His stomach problems with flour made him think he was gluten intolerant, so we have been eating gluten free since he started eating that way. It's believed that the issue was with the way in which the store bought flour was processed, because he has no problem eating anything made with fresh ground flour.

The company is what I've been looking for
5/5

It's nice to deal with an American firm. Originally, it did not have an extension bar for power. The manufacturer sent me one without proof after I called. A company based in the United States that stands behind their product. I have only used it a few times, but so far I am very pleased Solid mill that does the job well. You will need to mount it to something, but it is a good workout. Once I've spent a few minutes milling the flour, I don't feel so guilty about eating the tasty bread. While we watch television, I think I will hook it up to an old bike so I can grind flour.

This is the most amazing mill I've ever seen! Research was a big factor in my decision to purchase this grain mill
5/5

In my mind, a perfect house is one that will last and will be able to be passed down from generation to generation. You're not going to want to miss this one! It could not have worked out better for me. Even so, it is always a workout to turn the handle for such a large amount of flour, but often, we only make enough for a couple batches of bread and we like it more Our bean auger also arrived, which is something you should take advantage of. Green pea or navy bean flour is one of the nice things that I noticed. Then you can cook boiling water on the stove and mix in the flour, which will produce pea soup within minutes. It doesn't take much to create an instant meal! Just pull out some leftover veggies from the fridge! It couldn't get any better than this, could it? This product is great and I highly recommend it.
