The inside oil level ring on the cooker is calibrated to use the amount of oil indicated. Less oil means the thermostat will cycle on and off more frequently, as less oil provides less heat. Food may cook at an excessively high temperature as a result of the sink effect. I filter my oil through a tea strainer lined with a "de laminated" paper towel over a catch pot and discard the oil once it has darkened - Normally 3 - 5 times (depending on the amount of food that is cooked each time). I hope this has been of assistance. PS: Avoid cheap oil if you have a sensitive stomach. Premium oils (Mazola, Peanut oil, etc.) will last longer and break down more slowly, making them easier to digest.
It certainly ought to. At 212 degrees Fahrenheit, water boils, and it reaches a temperature of 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Regrettably, Gary, this version does not include a fry basket that is compatible. You'd have to investigate a variety of models. You can also contact the manufacturer to inquire about which models come with fry baskets.
It's possible that this isn't big enough for a group of ten.

When we finally put it to use, the divider melted. The black part slid into our french fries, though it was difficult to see. I'm going to contact Amazon and Presto to request a refund and possibly a recall. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> br>Over the course of several emails, Presto demanded that I provide several photos and serial numbers. Then he proposed replacing the melted part. No thanks, I'm not going to risk ruining another meal or allowing toxic smoke into my home for a $45 refund. Presto, you did an excellent job.
We purchased this fryer but did not immediately put it to use. We were using it for the first time because we had thawed fish and company to feed, and it had heated up to 150 degrees and wouldn't go any higher. We didn't return within the 30-day window set by Amazon. It's now all about email battles with the manufacturer (Presto). "We'll repair or replace it," they say, "but it'll take a few weeks. " If you get one, use it as soon as possible to avoid having to deal with them. We weren't close to the 30-day mark, but we were already past it, so that was our error. I gave it a one because they have the order date/information, photos, and other information. They should replace it and have us return this one. The manufacturer hasn't met my expectations. I will not be purchasing any Presto products because of their customer service; I understand that things go wrong, but their approach/policy on a brand new item is ridiculous. It took a long time to get it, and it will take even longer IF/when they fix it.
Oh my goodness, this is heaven! I'm not going to lie to you, I'm not going to sugarcoat it. I was skeptical at first when I took it out of the box and noticed that it didn't come with a cooking lid, only a storage lid. Without a lid, it actually did a great job of cooking the food. It also lacked a temperature control, which was surprising. It only takes a few moments to heat up to the ideal temperature after being plugged in. SN: BR: BR: SN: SN: SN: SN: SN: SN: SN If you, like me, enjoy reusing your oil. Peanut oil is used in the cooking process. Peanut oil is ideal for frying because of its high smoke point and neutral flavor. It's also lower in saturated fat and higher in polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats than shortening or lard, making it a healthier alternative to frying. br>br>Just fry your foods. Allow your oil to cool after straining it. Then, for storage, put on the plastic lid: ) I'm a huge fan of this deep fryer! So far, this is the best one I've had.
We don't fry much, but the method we use for egg rolls, okra, and other vegetables has proven to be effective. I have a round splatter guard on hand, but due to the lack of splattering, I have yet to use it.
I like how big it is, how quickly it heats up, and how consistent the temperature is. I wish the lid fit a little tighter in the cabinet for storing used oil between uses, but you can wrestle it on there and it will stay if not knocked at all. No temperature adjustment, but I've never needed to in the first place; the excellent default temperature setting appears to meet all of my requirements. br>br>I've seen some negative feedback about the size; it's advertised as a larger fryer, so I'm not sure what they're thinking. Cooking for a family or entertaining guests has never been easier. If a deep depth is not required, you can simply use less oil and fry smaller batches for one or two people. br>br>The tools that come with it are plastic, which aren't suitable for use in a fryer. Keep the fryer and toss those!.
I like how you can simply plug it in and wait 15 minutes before using it. You'll be ready to go in 20 minutes. My son loves crinkle cut fries, and I have to say, this DualDaddy makes them crisp and delicious in about 6 minutes. I've made homemade and frozen chicken tenders with it, and they're both delicious.
Since I got this fryer, I've been frying a variety of foods in it, and the larger size allows me to experiment with cooking larger pieces of food. I appreciate not having to make any adjustments - Simply fill the fill line with oil and wait 15 minutes. Allow 20 minutes for the oil to heat up before cooking. I discovered that waiting the full 20 minutes yielded the best results, and that using peanut oil, I was able to achieve my desired 375°F. The temperature was close but not quite there after 15 minutes.
I like how there are two fathers in this picture. I was looking for a replacement Granpappy when I came across this. It really works. On one side, there were fries, and on the other, there were chicken strips. I took out the divider and used it to fry fish. Perfect!.
