Questions & Answers

How hot does this thing get when it cooks? Is it safe to cook it at 350 degrees Fahrenheit?

My candy thermometer goes beyond 400 degrees Fahrenheit, and when I cook with it, the outside is cooked perfectly, but the inside remains raw. In addition, I used breaded chicken that had been allowed to come to room temperature.

What country does this originate from?

Everything else is the same- It appears to have been designed in the United States (Wisconsin). China is the source of this product. Whatever the case may be- This is an excellent fry pan. It can store a lot of information. The heat is evenly distributed, resulting in a beautiful finished product that is simple to clean. In this household, it is unquestionably a FIVE STAR. Shrimp, oysters, fish sticks, chicken wings, and donuts are just a few of the delicacies on the menu. They're all perfect, at a great price, and you know how quickly Amazon can deliver them to your door!

Is there a lot of splatter when you're cooking with this?

TO GO WITH IT, YOU ABSOLUTELY "MUST" BUY A SPLATTER SCREEN. IT WILL SPRAY OIL ALL OVER THE PLACE. HOW MUCH IS DEPENDENT ON THE FOOD'S MOISTURE CONTENT AND HOW FAST IT IS ADDED. ALSO, DO NOT FOLLOW THE COOKING INSTRUCTIONS OR EVERYTHING WILL BE WAY TOO DONE. INSTRUCTIONS FOR AN EXAMPLE SAY 4- SHRIMP TAKES APPROXIMATELY 8 MINUTES TO COOK THE TIME IS APPROXIMATELY 2 MINUTES AND 10 SECONDS IN REALITY. FRIES - 8-THE BOOK SAYS TEN MINUTES THIN CUT TAKES ABOUT 4 MINUTES LESS IN REALITY. FILLETS OF FISH - THE BOOK RECOMMENDS A TIME OF 4 TO 8 MINUTES. REAL TIME IS 3–4 MINUTES, DEPENDING ON FILLET THICKNESS. REMEMBER TO PREHEAT THE OVEN FOR ONLY 15 MINUTES. THE CHINESE DID A GOOD JOB ON THAT PART. IT'S DONE WHEN WHAT YOU'RE COOKING FLOATS ON TOP OF THE OIL, AS A GENERAL RULE OF THUMB. YOU ARE GOING TO LEARN AS YOU GO. IT'S A GREAT FRYER EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT YOU CAN'T PUT A LARGE AMOUNT IN AT ONCE. GRAND DADDY, DO NOT GET THE LARGER FRY, IT SUCKS. IT JUST DOESN'T HEAT THE OIL QUITE QUITE QUITE QUITE QUITE QUITE QUITE QUITE QUITE

Is there a temperature control knob or a timer on this fryer? What method do you use to regulate the temperature?

The temperature on the 05420 FryDaddy is set to 375°F. This fryer does not have a temperature control. Please contact the Presto Customer Service Department M-F if you have any questions or concerns. A complete letdown
3/5

I ordered it because I liked the cute design. The product's functionality is a complete letdown. Buying this product is pointless because it is the same as frying food in oil. On the stovetop, there is a full pot. The purpose of a deep fryer should be to have a lid over it to keep the kitchen from smelling bad and to do the job without making a mess. This has a plastic lid that can only be used when the fryer is completely cool to cover the top for storage. Because the fryer's body heats up quickly, make sure there are no children in the kitchen when it's frying. Because the bottom of the fryer gets hot, make sure there's something underneath it to keep your countertop from getting burned.

AVOID! It melted into the ground! This is the second Fry Daddy I've had
3/5

The first one lasted a long time and did an excellent job. br>br>As a result, when it began to leak from the fryer's bottom, it was replaced. br>br>The pictures should show what happened, but basically, I had a grease splatter screen on top of the fry daddy, and when I removed it to put the fries in the oil, the fry daddy's plastic lip had melted! br>br>Thinking it was just the lip, I added some fries and discovered that the plastic lining that holds the oil had begun to melt, causing clumps of plastic to splatter all over the fries (the black globs in between the fries are what you see in the images). br>br>It could have been a one-off issue with the product I received, but it's unsettling that a device holding boiling oil started to melt. br>br>Thankfully, it didn't leak and was able to keep the oil warm until it cooled down. br>br>While I was a big Fry Daddy fan before this incident, we went out and bought another model with a steel/ceramic lining.

Please accept my gratitude for the bacon! Dear reviewers, please accept my heartfelt gratitude for all of your assistance in responding to my inquiry regarding: "Can you deep fry bacon with this?" says FryDaddy, excitedly
5/5

"br>Surprisingly, none of the responses indicated that anyone had tried. Well, bacon lovers, I'm here to tell you that it makes the best, crispy bacon imaginable - ever! br>It ought to be called the Presto BaconDaddy! Why don't you try The Baconator? All I'm saying is, how could you not use this to make bacon? br>As soon as you've placed the slices in the oil, I strongly advise using a splatter guard. I used Canola oil and discovered that the maximum number of thickly sliced pieces should be limited to three at a time, as four may cause the oil to overflow. Experience, to be sure. Experimenting, on the other hand, proved to be extremely beneficial and delicious!
Note: Because it's a small fryer with no rack, the bacon comes out curly like the previous owner's. Cue tail, but don't be fooled: unless you're a food stylist, this will be the best bacon you've ever had! So, my bacon buddies, here's the holy grail of swine strips for you! br>And to everyone who has asked if the Presto FryDaddy can be used to cook bacon, the simple answer is that if you own one, you should have tried it. bacon-obsessed bacon-obsessed baconobsessed baconobsessed bacon.

The suggested times provided with the documentation are correct
5/5

This is something I haven't had in a long time. Since the originals, they've made a lot of improvements. I've used it quite a bit, and it appears to be in good condition. I have an infrared remote sensing thermometer, and the thermostat is extremely precise; when it comes up to temperature, it is always within five degrees of previous readings. br>The heating element is more than capable of "keeping up" with a large quantity of food. The suggested times included with the documentation are also correct. br>It's a good product.

Excellent product!! Also, it's a nice, low-cost present
5/5

FRYER IS OUTSTANDING! This is perfect for a quick, tasty meal for me because I am elderly and live alone. There's no need to wait for it to heat up; it's ready to "fry" in just a few minutes. It's great not to have to worry about the temperature (the oil stays ready to fry). I enjoyed it so much that I purchased several more as gifts because the price was reasonable and my friends enjoyed it as well. This is something I would recommend for you or as a nice, inexpensive gift.

The fryer is fantastic
5/5

This fryer has been in my possession for the past three weeks. It appeals to me greatly. Because of some negative reviews, I was hesitant to do it. The instruction book, on the other hand, contains everything. You will have a good time if you follow all of the precautions and advice listed. I fry potatoes, shrimp, cheese sticks, and falafel almost every day with it. It's a lot easier to fry at home now than it was before. It didn't produce enough steam to set off the fire alarm, which I found irritating. In conclusion, I am pleased with my purchase.

For a health-conscious family, this is an excellent fryer
5/5

For the majority of my life, I have avoided purchasing a deep fryer because I believe they are difficult to use, clean, and store. This item, on the other hand, isn't like any of the others. It's simple to use, fits on your counter or under the sink, and is very easy to clean. The oil also heats up to the ideal frying temperature and keeps it there. I don't fry very often these days, but when I did, it was a pain to keep the oil from becoming too hot or too cold once the food was added. I must admit that there were times when I turned down the heat because the temperature was too high and my food sat in too cold oil. I don't have to touch anything because this thing keeps the temperature at a perfect level. It's fairly compact, which is good because it takes up about the same amount of space as my salad spinner. Also, while I can't make as many french fries as McDonald's, it makes enough for a family of four, and if we have extra kids or adults, I simply make a second batch while we're eating the first, so I don't have to stand over the second fry to keep playing with the temperature. I can join the rest of the family and let the second batch cook on its own, stirring only once in a while. It's also small enough to leave on the counter or, as I did, simply place it under the sink with the lid on. It's a breeze to clean. br>br> When the oil is cool, I strain it, store the used and strained oil in the fridge (it lasts a long time before I need to completely change the oil), and then wash the unit in my sink with hot soapy water. The cord is easy to plug in and out, and the unit looks nice on the counter. br>With a price tag of around $24, you can't go wrong.
