Questions & Answers

What's the difference between it and the Daddy presto?

It has grown considerably! I have both and use the GranPappy most of the time unless I'm cooking for just myself. I cook a lot of fish, and the GanPappy makes it much easier to prepare a batch. It doesn't require as much oil as it doesn't take as much oil as it doesn'

When the oil is heated and cooking, does the outside of the unit become extremely hot to the touch (is it safe to touch the outside)?

The unit's exterior is scorching! It's not a good idea to touch it while it's frying. Leave it alone until your food is thoroughly cooked, then unplug it from both the unit and the wall outlet.

What is the capacity of the presto granpappy electric deep fryer (05411 granpappy)?

Fill the unit with cooking oil or shortening until it reaches the oil level line on the inside. Use no more than six, 8-ounce bottles at a time. 3 lbs. shortening or 3 ounce cups of cooking oil 1 to 6 cups of food, placed gently in the unit Spattering of hot oil can be reduced by using a scoop. Is there a way to keep this from splattering if you use a lid?

The fryer has an 8-inch diameter. This item was discovered on Amazon after some research. I'm thinking of getting both of them. Because I don't do much fancy frying, I think this setup will suffice.br>HIC Harold Import Co. If you want to learn more about Gran Pappy and Fly Daddy Elite, look at this image
5/5

Both are present in my possession. br>Gran Pappy is unquestionably larger than Fly Daddy Elite. It's also difficult to clean Fly Daddy's bottom because it isn't flat. If you can't decide between two good options, I recommend Gran Pappy.

The oil becomes too hot for the chicken to cook in
3/5

This deep fryer was purchased only a few weeks ago. It was only for one reason that I purchased it: chicken to be fried Regrettably, the oil becomes too hot for this. Using the manual's recommended cooking times for thighs and legs, as well as any temperature within the given range for both, the skin blackened and burned before the inside of the chicken was thoroughly cooked (no pink). br>br>If you want nice, golden brown skin and cooked chicken, this deep fryer will fall short. You'll be satisfied if you don't mind having burnt, black, hard skin. This will be returned to you. br>br>.

It does exactly what it says on the tin
5/5

within the q It goes up to 375 degrees Fahrenheit, according to a section where the seller or possibly the manufacturer claims. According to at least a couple of reviewers, it only gets up to 350 degrees. I purchased this along with a 5in long deep fryer temperature gauge with a clip that fits perfectly. The fryer reached 375 degrees Fahrenheit, if not slightly higher (analog gauge). The temperature dropped to 350 degrees after dropping 16 ounces of frozen chedder bites, but quickly rose to 375 degrees just before they finished cooking (chedder bites take about 1 minute 45 seconds to cook). 2min15sec) This product appealed to me because of its simplicity. It's just a bucket, really. Plug it in and it heats up to the only temperature I'd ever use. As a kitchen manager, I make sure that all of our fryers are set to 375 degrees (the highest setting). Also, because this fryer holds 6 cups of oil, it won't drop in temperature as quickly as the others I looked at. There's also enough space for the oil to not spill over the edge. btw, where I work, 8 oz is an appetizer. I love this bucket because I can now just grab some frozen ched bites, chicken tenders, or whatever I want and cook it later when I'm hungry, since nothing tastes as good when you have to reheat in the microwave.

My GranPappy is my favorite person in the world
5/5

I've already used it a few times. Shrimp, chicken wings, mushrooms, and okra are all fried in peanut oil. Everything is cooked to perfection. I've had no issues so far. Nothing ever melted in my presence. Did you make sure you removed the plastic lid before plugging it in, if you're having problems with the fryer melting? Just saying, I find it difficult to believe this fryer would melt. My GranPappy is my favorite person in the world. It performs better than any other fryer I've purchased and takes up less space. Before using, make sure to take the lid off. Bertie, I wish you all the best.

There is only one temperate
3/5

Container that is extremely hot. It's easy to clean, fill, and operate the fryer. It has a large top opening with plenty of room to avoid splashes and get food in and out (which can be difficult in smaller models). The disadvantages are that (1) it only heats to one temperature and (2) it only heats to one temperature. 400 degrees Fahrenheit There is no way to control the temperature, so if your food requires 400 degrees, prepare it accordingly. You're in luck, because you're in the right place at the right time. If you want to make fried donuts or a fried cookie (such as a rosette or a crueler), you'll need oil that's between 350 and 400 degrees Fahrenheit. This is too hot at 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Tempura and vegetable fritters will also be too hot at this temperature. You can make french fries and possibly fried chicken pretty much any way you want. (2) There is no insulating layer in the fry container - It's a metal pot with a temperature of 400 degrees on the outside; it's coated black, so you might not notice, but it's as hot as a metal container in a 400 degree oven. Even though it has small "feet" under it, I would not recommend placing it directly on your counter top (place a hot plate or cutting board underneath it). If you brush or touch the outside of the fryer by accident, you will get a blistering burn almost immediately. (3) It heats up EXTREMELY quickly, which can be beneficial for some but dangerous for others. In a matter of seconds, it's scorching hot. So, if you're attempting to set things up - Don't try to move it after you've plugged it in. Some fryers have some insulation on the outside, but this one does not, and there are no warnings about it (only about the risk of splashing grease) - which is exactly what it is, and it is their design - However, keep in mind. Especially if there are children in the kitchen who want to help or observe what is going on.

Does the job perfectly! This counter-top fryer is fantastic! I'm glad I made this purchase after two days; the wings, fries, and burritos have all turned out deliciously

I was concerned about the single setting, but the fryer heats up and the pan adjusts.

It was a waste of money! br>Saving money is important,br>- Only ONE temperature causes the chicken to burn (undercooked on the inside and overcooked on the outside)
3/5

br>- There isn't a switch to turn it on or off. br>- Your food will burn on the bottom because there is no basket. br>- Your skin will be burned (1st or 2nd degree burn) if you go outside. br>- I can't get my money back, but I'd like to prevent you from wasting yours. br>br>I can't get my money back, but I'd like to prevent you from wasting yours. br>br>I can't get my money back, but I'd like to prevent you from wasting yours. br>*PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE THIS FRYER.

This is without a doubt the best fryer on the market
5/5

This is without a doubt the best fryer on the market. I've had every single one of them - This is the most basic, easy to use, and clean of the bunch. No one should be allowed near a hot stove unless they recognize the machine's simplicity and beauty. This book comes highly recommended.
