The item used to make takoyaki was purchased. There were some reviews of the surface heating evenly, however not very badly. I made three batches and got the hang of it. I turned the takoyaki pretty well, however the item came with wooden handles and metal picks to turn them. Considering that there was a nonstick coating on the food, I thought it was peculiar. In the instructions, it is stated that no metal should be used on the item. However, the implements came packaged with the item and there weren't any instructions on how to use them other than to be used to turn the takoyaki. I loved that pan when I was in college, since it had round burners. However, when I moved, I no longer had that set up at my new apartment. I found that most of my takoyaki ended up burnt or had uneven cooking. This nonstick takoyaki pan comes to the rescue! Takoyaki in this pan cooks evenly and is lightweight, easy to use, and has a great look! Although I really enjoy making takoyaki in this new pan, I wish I could adjust the temperature (definite advantage of my old pan).

In my deliberations between a stovetop pan or the whole electric system, I thought about making takoyaki for the first time. Whenever I cook Japanese I need all the space I can get on the stovetop, so I picked a stovetop that is all electric. Since the skewers they send are metal, please do not use them. It is a non stick product. They even state in their instructions not to use them, so why include them at all? Rotating the balls was no problem for me using a bamboo skewer. I had no issues with the heat, since it was consistent. The bacon I used instead of octopus was a hit with people who tried them, and they all asked for Thus, I can say I am definitely recommending because it is so easy to use and the end product is delicious.

This is such a great idea. Takoyaki was something I had never heard of before, but it looked like something I could use to make some tasty appetizers. My daughter and I used it immediately upon receiving it and it worked just as it should. While the mold cannot be removed easily from the electrical portion for cleaning, the wet cloth did clean it easily. Overall, the product gets 5 stars, but the mold cannot be removed.
