Identical to the original in appearance and function. There is a design flaw in this, so if you clean it frequently and have someone else refinish it I believe it is very easy to break the little plastic knobs when assembling it (without the expertise). We have dropped these on the floor too (we have a wooden floor in the kitchen), so it did not survive the tumble. If you want to have these on hand back-ups, you definitely should order a couple of them. The price is very reasonable.
