It does not cook the tortilla evenly, so I would not recommend it. I'd give it a zero out of ten.
I suppose you could use it to make a homemade tortilla.
It's not something you should buy.
No, the bowl does not come out of the bowl maker; instead, each bell must be made separately.

These don't turn out like tostada shells, but if you spray them with olive oil and cook them for about 4 minutes, they will. They become really crispy after 5 minutes, or until the steam stops. Tortillas were made with flour and carbs in mind. It worked perfectly and was extremely simple to implement.
This was used to make taco salads for my family, which were delicious! Each tortilla takes about 2 minutes to prepare. Crispy and perfect, with none of the fat of fried food. This purchase has made me very happy. When opening, use a pot holder because it is extremely hot. Check that the latch is completely closed. Preheating took an eternity because I didn't fully close the latch. Cleaning is a breeze.
I was given one that had been previously used. The tamper seal had been broken, and it was clear that someone else had opened the box. This is the third time in the last year that I have received a "new" returned item that was not. Be aware. This one will be returned to the library. I'll order from another retailer because it appears to be a cool product.
There isn't a ready or finish buzzer on it. To know when it's ready, we simply look at the steam coming from the press. However, this is only a minor issue. It's something I'd buy again if the opportunity arose.
This is cool stuff and all, but it's hot as hell. Use a pot holder to open and close any boy if necessary, according to the instructions. That worries me because I don't believe it has any kind of temperature control. And the more you make them, the hotter they become. br>Cook time is a little hazy; the package says to cook for 1 hour. It's difficult to tell if something is done or burnt after only 3 minutes. br>A 10" flour tortilla is too large; the sides fold over like a rim; the 8" flour tortilla fits perfectly. br>However, it is ten times faster and less messy than baking them in the oven.
It only makes the tortillas chewy, not crisp. However, it's far too small to be considered a true taco salad. Unfortunately, this is yet another device that I will not use.
I read the recommended tortilla size, bought them, and they work perfectly! After you remove the tortillas from the oven, I recommend letting them sit for a few minutes. They appear to be hardening a bit more.
It takes longer for the machine to heat up than the instructions state. The green light turns on right away, indicating that the device is ready to use. Crisping the shell takes longer than stated in the directions. My front tip was missing paint and looked as if it had been dropped (dropped?). The bowl is ridiculously large. It should be stated that this is for children's portions, not adult portions. You can't make an adult-sized salad in a salad bowl. This machine should be larger to accommodate larger tortilla shells. 10 in. is tiny.
