They look and feel like fine ceramic, and even my picky mother was fooled! The edge appears to be thinner than most Corelle dishes (and we have a lot because I'm a klutz), and they're holding up well to my abuse. They don't nest as tightly as other Corelle bowls, but they're still stackable. I'm very pleased with them.

Corelle dinnerware is one of our favorites because it's so simple to keep clean. It does not become clogged with food. This size is ideal for eating a large bowl of Vietnamese pho (noodle soup), which is exactly what I had in mind when I purchased it. It's a little thinner than other corelle I've purchased from other stores, but I still like it. Although it appears and feels opulent, I am familiar with corelle's durability. For comparison purposes, I included a smaller bowl.

These large dinner bowls are ideal for large salads, burrito and other "hot pot" style bowls, and just about anything else you can think of. You could put a meat and two vegetables in them, for example. In the center of the table, there are chips with salsa.
