The load capacity of this rack is not specified by the manufacturer. The rods are made of 5/8" polished steel and can handle spools up to 10" in diameter, so I'm guessing they can hold quite a bit. It can also be wall mounted, which increases the amount of weight it can support. br>Scale Warehouse and More by Danbr>
THE RODS ARE 5/8" IN DIAMETER AND CAN STORE UP TO 10" DIAMETER SPOOLS. WIRE SPOOLS WITH A DIAMETER OF 500 FEET ARE DIFFICULT FOR ME TO DETERMINE.
I'm not sure. It's what I use for 12 and 10 ga. wire.
Vertically, there is a 7-foot clearance. Each of the four rails has a 5" spacing between them. If you need to stuff it with 8-inch-diameter spools, go for it. However, you'd run into problems. if you have two spools If your table is 5" wide, you can fit 9 across the top and 9 across the bottom - They'd be able to clear the top and bottom edges of the table. Because the middle two rails are only 8" at their edges, you could stagger partially depleted spools there. If you are unable to locate a rack of a larger size, I believe you will benefit from this.

I modified this Wire Spool Rack to hold reels of string for our home-based Racquet Stringing Business. br>I had to buy 3/8" metal rods to replace the included rods because they were too big to fit the string reels. br>I hung three Triton Products 71613 DuraHook 6" Long Single Rod Hooks for single packages of string near the extra space at the bottom of the rack with pegboard on the back. br>According to the item description, it can handle spools of wire of various sizes up to 10" in diameter, which may be true, but not if you want to use every possible rod. The 10" diameter string reels would have collided if we used more than two of the four possible rod locations. Drilling two holes 1" apart and using a screw and nut to hold them to the side of the rack allowed me to mount four of the extra 6" Pegboard Hooks for additional reel storage.
I've got spools of 12 ga, 14 ga, and 16 ga wire, as well as spools of small engine starter cord in various sizes. It really works. My unit is wall-mounted, but it can also be used on the floor or on a bench. It's well worth the money, and I try to buy "American Made" products whenever possible, so this is an ideal purchase for me. I would have given it five stars if it hadn't been so difficult to put together. The holes were not perfectly aligned. Despite the fact that some of them are slotted, I still had to drill out three of them to get the bolts through. Once you've bolted it together, the way the corners fit together makes it very strong. There were a few scuff marks on one side panel, but it was otherwise in good condition when it arrived. br>br>I had intended to buy another one, but it appears to be unavailable at the moment. I'm not sure what's going on there, but I'm hoping it'll be fixed soon.
The setup was simple to assemble and held up well on its own. When I mounted it for easy storage, it only got better. I have no objections to this.
There isn't a whole lot to say about it. It does what it's supposed to do. It does require some sort of attachment.
When mounted to the wall, it is simple to assemble and very sturdy. One star deducted because the bar spacing is insufficient to allow standard 100' wire spools to be stacked on top of one another. Check the bar spacing requirements for your application before making a purchase.
Until you attach it to something, it's a little wobbly. If you simply put it on a shelf, if you pull on the wire too hard, it may fall over.
br>br> It was put together with the assistance of my three-year-old daughter.
