Questions & Answers

What is the length and width of this bus bar? Dimensions are measured in length, width, and height. ?

The exact dimensions vary depending on which bus bar you choose; visit the Blue Sea website for more information.

Will this work in my engine compartment to replace a rusted "grounding pod"? There are also four posts. Thanks. ?

Yes, as long as one of the posts is in contact with the main ground. It doesn't matter if the ground is from the battery or from the engine block. I've gotten a lot of use out of the two I bought.

Is there a cover for it? Thanks?

The cover is included with the 130 amp AC / 150 amp DC unit.

Is there a way to remove the buss bar? Is it possible to use this without the buss bar as a covered terminal block? 4 power inputs, each with its own power source. ?

No, this isn't the product for you if you have four independent inputs. I believe that a segmented terminal strip with a cover would be more appropriate for your needs. They're fairly common at lower amperage ratings, but I'm not sure if they're available at this product's rating; Blue Seas sells them up to 65A.

This is a great way to clean up your battery
5/5

Prepare a supply of ten washers. The 4 terminal bus bar with plastic cover from Blue Sea Systems is the subject of this review. The product is well-made, and the plastic cover on both ends fits snugly over the nut. This is significant because if the end-product does not meet expectations, The cover will not fit as well if the nuts are screwed down at drastically different lengths. It would be nice to have both red and black, but all I could find was black. As a result, I used black on both sides. One thing to keep in mind: You'll need a stainless 10 or similar washer if you're using 3/8" lugs / ring terminals.

I didn't expect it to be as small as it was
3/5

For a 100-amp bus bar, it's a lot smaller than I expected. I'm pretty sure using this for 100 amps isn't a good idea. I wouldn't use this for anything more than 20 amps and 12 guage wire. br>br>For 100 amps, the smallest coper wire you can use is 4 guage, which is much larger than the medium wire in my picture. br>br>If you're using wires thicker than 10 gauge, the smallest terminal connector will be too big. br>br>I'm using 2/0 wire, which is the largest wire in my picture, for 100 amps DC. It makes this tiny bus bar appear even smaller.

The busbar is extremely durable
4/5

This is what I bought to connect my solar battery bank's negative parallel cables. I had hoped to find a busbar with five posts, but it was not to be. When I ordered it, I thought it would be 3/8", but it was actually 5/16". However, because I needed to make up battery cables, I simply purchased 5/16" end lugs and attached them to the cable instead. The cable from the mini disconnect has a 3/8" lug, which wasn't a problem because the nut makes good contact with the end, but I'll update once I get a nice sunny day (we've been having cloudy days and rain). This was much less expensive than the solar company's quote for a 17-inch busbar with no posts!.

Underneath the hood, it looks fantastic! Under the hood of my truck, I used these as ground points
5/5

I used a large gauge jumper to connect the main body ground to the side post, then pulled any new ground required from the screw points. The cover adds a nice finishing touch, but it's not necessary for the grounds. As with all Blue Sea products I've used, this one is well constructed.

These guys have seen it all and come out on top
5/5

For the past year, I've been using three charge controllers to feed a battery bank in an off-grid system. grid system is a type of grid system. I've gone over the 250 amp limit (albeit by a few amps) a couple of times and haven't had any issues. They can start to get a little hotter as you get closer to 175 amps, but that's to be expected when you're running that much current through them. The highest temperature I could get was around 95 degrees Fahrenheit. When it was pushing over 225 amps at 105 degrees F @ /- At room temperature, use a 24v power supply and a temperature gun. br>br>The tin coating is excellent, and the weight of the coins indicates that they are copper on the inside. The measurements are accurate to the penny. on which I was able to put these in a container. I've had no issues with these, and let's face it - who doesn't? There are no moving parts in these solid metal pieces. But they've so far stood up to everything I've thrown at them. br>br>I'm upgrading these to 600 amp models because I'm adding more solar and don't want to risk it going over 300 amps. If you need something like this, don't scrimp on the quality and get these instead.

Excellent quality
5/5

The quality is excellent. My only criticism is that the protective cover should have completely covered the terminals. A metal object or a carelessly placed screwdriver can easily slip beneath the terminals and short them out.

Ground Buss
5/5

My project required me to mount this against a flat surface, so you'd think you could only use one side of the buss, but this item allows you to use both rows of the buss from one side. I used another buss because I was desperate for a buss and found another buss was made in a smaller foot print, so I couldn't easily shift wires to one side, making it a crowded buss. I had to remove two wires to service one circuit. This item does not clog your wires and allows you to service them without having to remove two wires in order to reach one.

What a fantastic solution! First and foremost, I am a fan of Blue Seas products; their quality is consistently high, and this buss bar was no exception
5/5

I needed to add another 12 volt feed because I already had a jumble of wires on my solenoid's positive post. I got this to go on the inner fender to tidy things up and give me easier access to future power needs. The cover appears to be well-made and aids in the prevention of unintended shorts. This unit is of good quality, and it was simple to install. Thanks a lot, Blue Sea!.
