After that, it simply stopped working. I was disappointed because this was the best ice maker I'd ever had in terms of quantity and quality of ice, so I sent an email to the manufacturer, who promptly offered to send me another ice maker without my asking! Yesterday, I got my replacement. I'm hoping that the new unit will last longer than the original, which lasted only four months, because the machine is simply unrivaled when it's working. I'll update this review if I run into any more problems. Let's hope for the best. EUHOMY deserves special recognition for its outstanding customer service.

This machine took the place of an older ice machine in my home bar, which already had a water supply and drain. I purchased an adapter from Lowe's and upgraded to a stainless braided hose because the Euhomy's included water supply line seemed cheap and flimsy. A drain will be required! This machine makes ice quickly, but its storage bin isn't a freezer, so it melts over time (speed varies depending on your environment). If you don't have a drain, as the ice melts, your bin will turn into a swimming pool. Because the drain is gravity fed, your drain system must be BELOW the Euhomy's drain line (located just a few inches above the bottom of the machine), or you can purchase and install a small drain pump to push the water upward to a sink drain pipe. I built a short riser for my machine to sit on, raising it and thus its drain outlet 4 inches higher, allowing it to align with my existing wall drain system. br>If I run the machine continuously, it will shut down when it is full of ice (a new batch every 10-minutes). 15 min. ) It will then turn back on as needed to replenish any melting ice and maintain its fullness. If I know I won't need ice for a few days and turn the machine off manually, all of the ice will have melted in about 12 hours (machine is inside my home with the A/C set to 75). br>br>Some reviewers complained that the ice was melty or wet, and that it melted too quickly. The front of the machine has a simple menu screen adjustment for how "hard" you want the ice cubes to be (read the instructions because the numbering system for the hardness settings didn't seem obvious to me). Even on the most difficult setting, the ice in my drink appears to melt faster than ice from my freezer. But it isn't a problem for me. Again, because this isn't a freezer, there's no way to keep the ice super cold once it's in the bin. br>br>According to some reviews, the cubes do not break apart when dropped, but rather stay together in sheets. When I set it to freeze "hard," the first batches that fall all the way to the bin's floor break apart; however, as the ice piles up and fills the bin, the newest batches only fall a few inches inches and don't usually break apart; however, I keep a stainless kitchen meat mallet in the bar and a few light taps on the pile of ice easily break them apart. br>br>I read at least one review that claimed the machine he received was defective All I can say is that mine came with a protective white plastic wrap that I had to peel off in order to see the stainless steel underneath. My wife attached an ice shovel to the front with a magnetic hook. While I am not a scientist, I believe that magnets will not stick to stainless steel, so. . . I'm not sure if it is stainless steel, but it IS metal and it LOOKS like stainless. br>br>It does make a small amount of noise, as some have complained, but I no longer notice it because my bar is in the middle of the house, just feet from my living room. Once it's full, it only turns on for about 10 minutes a few times throughout the day. br>br>Overall, it suits my needs perfectly. I paid $399 plus shipping and received it in a matter of days. It was well-packaged and functions flawlessly. (I did get an error code once, but it was resolved with a quick power off and on. ) Prepare to clean it on a regular basis, just like any other appliance. I would recommend this ice machine to anyone as long as they are aware that the ice bin is not a freezer (at best a mediocre cooler).

  This ice machine is great, and it's very easy to set up. All I had to do was connect the water inlet valve from my reverse osmosis water filter system to its inlet (tube is already provided), and they also include an adaptor to split a cold water valve from under the sink to use if you don't have a water filtration system. Having this ice maker will save you a lot of money in the long run; I have a lot of friends over and we drink a lot of beer, so being able to make our own ice will save us $10 to $15 every time we get together.

01/2020 Original Review: 11/2019 was the date of purchase. Our refrigerator ice maker couldn't keep up with our demands because we have five children. We bought it after our outdoor U-turn. After four years, the ice maker on the line died. I didn't want to spend nearly as much money on the U-Haul as I did on the U-Haul. replace it with a new line br>br>I was hesitant to buy this because the price was so low compared to others and it wasn't a freezer. It was fairly simple to set up. br>br> Because I have this on my outdoor patio and connected to an existing water line (the instructions do state that this is NOT for outdoor use - see photo), I only needed to purchase an adapter for the water line (see photo). This summer, we'll see how it copes with the Texas heat. )br>br>Ice can be made quickly and our inside freezer drawer can be replenished quickly. Because this is not a freezer, the ice cubes are constantly melting and tend to stick together when placed in one. Inside, we use a metal scoop and don't mind if they break. We are happy with our purchase after three months. br>br>The plastic scoop that came with this unit should not be used to break up the ice. br>br> We're testing it out again in Texas to see how well it works. br>br>I will undoubtedly win if it lasts longer than two years.
