Since I've had the dual zone unit for almost 5 years now, I have a lot of experience with it. In spite of the abuse I gave it, it performed flawlessly by the end of the project. All good things eventually come to an end. The #vanlifer in me lives on the streets. In the end, I bought the 62DZ (DZ stands for "Dual Zone") for my van on the advice of a friend. With a full year behind me I have to say that the fridge/freezer I have is great after some time use. There are many ways to use it - It is possible to set both zones to any combination of temperatures I desire on their own. Therefore, either side of the refrigerator or freezer can be used to store food. All the different places I go and all the different trips I take will be made more convenient by this. If I want to cool down a large quantity of beverages, both sides can become freezers at once and I can check the current temperature easily.
The digital control and readout is easy to use and gives me an accurate temperature reading. Noise is low when the compressor is running - At night, it doesn't bother me at all. Having the option to power with AC power or DC power is also extremely convenient. Featuring two 170W 12V panels and four deep cycle batteries, I run my van's entire power system on 340W of solar (and a battery bank). It has never been a problem for me to run out of power with this setup, and I doubt I could run with less solar and still be fine under most conditions - It is still possible to keep track of everything in the winter, even with the lower light.

This runs directly off of 24 volt DC, so it was the perfect addition to my solar off grid camper. Having appliances that bypass the inverter will save you a great deal of energy in the long run, since most of my electrical system is 24 volts. It's incredible that there's a fridge like this. Having written a review two years ago, I will have to update it. I bought this fridge two years ago, and I have had to throw out food several times to date, The appliance I love does the job, but I was irritated because it would not maintain the temperature I set for the freezer or fridge. By unplugging it, I would have to reset the temperature or power cycle it to bring it back to life. According to another review after reading this issue, a reset of the shutoff temperature threshold to the smallest setting would resolve the problem, and the default setting was 10 volts. It seems that this machine reads wrong voltage up to. It takes eight volts to work. When I thoroughly cleaned out the smell, I also noticed that as I tilted the machine in order to ensure no stinky meat juice was still in the drain tubes, I could see the said juice dripping out of the seam at the As a result, I worry I will not be able to thoroughly clean this unit. As soon as it's cold. Ice gets cold quickly and does not require much power to keep it cold. The cooling process consumes negligible amounts of power once it's cold. On a 400AH 12 volt battery supply, I ran it over a weekend and saw only a 1% drop in voltage. It is a two-volt device.
