I also had trouble getting them to seal correctly at first. In a phase of testing, I tried several bags and then by accident I discovered the secret after testing the machine using an old bag to confirm it was still The bags appear to have a more rigid texture on their side. At first my machine was unable to complete the vacuum and seal the bags. Flipping the bag over so the smooth side was up enabled them to vacuum and seal the bag well. I took off one start since they would vacuum with either side up in my machine, but I have only the smooth side up. Not too much of an issue, so I decided to rerun that start. Upon re-examination I will revise this review if they do not hold the seal. However, it is fine for the moment.

These vacuum sealer bags were purchased from FoodSaver to be used with the appliance. Considering the mostly positive reviews, I expected that these bags would be nearly identical to FoodSaver bags, but they aren't. FoodSaver brand is much thicker and stronger, but that is not the reason why I rate The FoodSaver does not recognize even the bag when I place it into the machine to seal or vacuum. I have had to put the bag into the machine several times before it would recognize it. There may be a reason for this, perhaps due to the difference in Even though that is a bit frustrating, what is even more frustrating is that despite successfully vacuuming and sealing numerous bags, a few days later, I noticed that the seals on almost all the bags I had been able to seal had been broken. There were no bags inside the boxes and they probably offered no more protection than regular Ziplock freezer bags. While I am still able to store food in these bags for regular use, I cannot say that I trust them enough to put my life in their hands.

This is the first time I bought rolls since I won't be getting the ones I've been buying for the past few years. While they were similar in price, they are a lot worse in quality. When I buy meat in bulk, I vacuum seal it in order to freeze it later. My bag count for a dozen is 3, so I have three Bags with these seals failed to close four times. There are no failures during freezing included in that. My freezer has broken the seal of these bags on several occasions. The girl I'm talking about is not If a bone pokes through a steak, I try not to jostle them and take care not to damage the meat. I'll look in my deep freezer and see these in a stack with a failed seal. I'm not happy with the overall design of this bag. It has a different grid pattern that I've never seen on other bags I've used before. While all the others I've used so far have a checkerboard grid, this one has dots. In addition, I changed my vac sealers gaskets when I had one roll left of my previous brand, so I know that it is not the sealer itself that is causing the issue.
