Something that could be rewashed multiple times and could withstand messes from children and pets. They're the ones! They have made me so happy. I advise that you prepare ahead of time. If you're going to use them for this, wash them separately because the red ones will bleed color the first time you wash them!.
There was one thing I noticed. They turn blue when they come into contact with the battery acid. I think that's a good thing; it's like a litmus test; if it's already got some blue, I think that's a good thing. That's the one you'll need to clean your batteries with. It's all very simple. Cheers!.
When I first got them, I washed each one separately because they were red and I expected some color bleed. Then I mixed them in with my flour sack towels (we don't use paper towels at all, so we have a variety of colors of cloth towels for various purposes), and they were all pink. "Well, good job idiot," I thought to myself, "they clearly need to be washed a few more times. " "So I started separating them and tossing in a color catcher every time, and they've probably been washed 20 times and are STILL BLEEDING COLOR. " I'm getting rid of them because my pillow case got stuck to the side of the washer and turned pink.
As a replacement, I bought three of these. The ad stated that the auto repair shop was of high quality. As promised, the product arrived on time. When I first opened the bag of TOWELS, I thought they were RAGS. Cotton has a very loose weave that allows me to see my hand through the other side and has no thickness. This isn't good for oil or fluids in any case. The stitching around the edge was sloppy and not even sewn in some places. When washed, it shrank to slightly larger than a standard washcloth. I'm going to return the two unopened bags for a refund and look for something else.
These are great for grease, gas, and other viscous liquids in the workshop. When it comes to absorbing water, it's not so great. Also, these should not be used to clean anything. Even after several washes, it will color anything pink or red. I bought these because of the reusability, but the dye always washes out, which makes them inefficient. If at all possible, I'd go for white.
There are three things to know about these towels. They're thin and not very absorbent, to begin with. Expect them to absorb less than a paper towel of comparable size. They're perfect for situations where you need more durability than paper can provide. The second issue is that the material is quite coarse. I wouldn't use it to clean a television screen or wax a car because it requires a delicate touch. Finally, never, and I mean never, wash these towels in anything other than their original state! Even after several washes, the red dye will continue to bleed and run. I discovered this the hard way, and now all of my "car towels" are red and pink in color!.
Edit: These rags are still turning laundry loads pink after weeks and many washings. I assumed they'd already been washed to remove any remaining dye. I'm going to have to bleach everything in the end. Original: br>br>Original: br>br>Original: br>br>Original: b These shop rags bled all over the rest of my towels in the washing machine. Everything is now a deep, vivid, brilliant pink. So just keep that in mind. br>br>ADDITIONALLY, they have an odd chemical odor that won't go away. These should be avoided.
Everything will turn red as a result. If you need some shop towels to clean grease off your hands once and then throw away, this is a good deal. Even so, they cause your sweaty hands to turn red. I washed them once to remove some of the red dye, but they ended up leaving red dye in my washer for multiple loads. I pinked up my baby's outfit. br>White terry cloths or blue single-use shop towels are good choices. With these, there's a lot to be concerned about.
