Is it possible to use the lids with a hot soup?

I only use it for items that need to be kept cold. I did put a lid on it and run it under the hottest tap water I could find, but it didn't seem to make a difference.

Is the lid translucent or clear/transparent? Clear is what I'm looking for. They don't have the best photos. ?

Cup lid made of superior materials

Fits just about any 8 oz deli cup and is made of the thickest plastic available. The raised edges are great for stacking another cup on top of it without it sliding off. This is the lid to use if you want to store food in a freezer or something similar.
